This is probably my favorite hymn in the black book. I also like #188 When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. Actually I like a ton of them. I dont care much for contemporary Christian music. #96 Hallelujah What a Savior!
I like this video cause my favorite album is 'Hymns And Meditations' and my favorite hymn is 'Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing'. Thank you for sharing this video. God bless you!
If I had to choose just one song to listen to for the rest of my life it would be this one without question. I'm a "modern" worship guy, but when I heard this song for the first time I was literally reduced to tears. And for that matter; everytime I sing it in worship (both private and public) I cry.
This is one of my favorite hymns and it was sung and arranged beautifully. Blended very well with the video and I was ver blessed. I see hope, love and faith thru out the whole story video. I was wondering who was the singer? I sure loved it. Thanks for sharing:)
I belong to a Baptist Church, and we do have crosses in it. I'm not sure why you're asking. All of the crosses we display, don't have Christ on them. That's because He isn't on the Cross, He has risen. having Church on Sunday is celebrating the Resurrected Christ, not the dead One! I hope that helps you, my friend!
What you say is true. Christ, in his current state, is not on the cross. However, our redemption comes from his sacrifice on the cross.
Still, the video has an image of him suffering on the cross. If a video can have such an image, why isn't that same image in your church? Afterall, it is from Christ Crucified that your sins are paid for, right?
I agree with all you say! I have no problem with displaying Christ on the Cross. But that was not the original question you ask!
Most evangelical churches display crosses with out the Savior! It's not to minimize Christ's Death - but rather, maximize the Savior's resurrection. Romans 10:9-13.
Using the Cross with Christ on it, in the video, was to point out His sacrifice. But w/o the Resurrection, our faith is in vain! 1 Cor 15:13-14
Oh, well, to me, the cross has no significance whatsoever if it's just by itself. It wasn't the cross that saved us, it was Christ on the cross. Which is why, it seems pretty superfluous to me to display the naked cross.
@bobrose00 You can display Christ on the cross or not, but without acknowledgment of both his death AND resurrection its moot point whether or not you believe. The resurrection finalizes our salvation. We display a 'naked cross' because we celebrate his resurrection, his resurrection assures us of our salvation! A great book you can read to better understand this is Nothing but the Blood, by B.L. James in which he explains the theology of the crucifixion.
@parsonrobert EVEN DOE U GO TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY FOR CELEBRATING JESUS CHRIST RESURRECTED DOESN'T MEAN IS OK WIT FATHER ABOVE, IT HAS WRITING IN THE HOLY BOOK "KEEP MY SABBATH HOLY"

how come you don't have crucifixes in your churches, but you have them in videos like this?

@bobrose00 christians too often get hooked up on small things like symbols and tradition when GOD judges the heart not the church decor.
