Did you know that the pizza originated in anatolia but it was just dough with minced meat? and some great italian travellers brought it to italy and perfected it!
I have! Friend me on Facebook, Bobby Lane, Greenville NC (profile), and then when I accept you can see my 2009 NYC photo album and a pic I took of this famed white pizza, no doubt it rocks
Me and my hubby first had it on Oct 7, 2008. When I bit into it, I just started laughing uncontrollably because it was SO good. I thought we were being punk'd by Ashton Kutcher!
You lucky man. How I'd love to be in your seat right now. I live in Philadelphia and one time I went to NYC just for pizza. 2 hrs drive each way did get kind of tiring :( . It was my first time actively trying out NYC pizza. I concluded one thing: to REALLY notice the difference between Lombardi's pizza and the regular pizza shops - you should add on as much topic as possible. The topping makes the difference from very good pizza to GREAT pizza. IMO. I'll try it out again. Good video!
The "true secret" besides the coal burning oven which is so much hotter than any convential oven is the NYC tap water for the dough. The mineral content makes for excellent crust and distinctive taste.
next time i'm in nyc i'm going to try out john's pizza in east greenwich village. lombardis is the original (and the other legendary pizza shops learned their craft from lombardis) but i hear that today john's is the best. lombardi's, totonno's, johns, and grimaldis are the four legendary pizza shops of new york i think.
U R LUCKY STIFF LUCKY $TIFF.
