Batteries on all these LARGE drive camcorders is woefully anemic, true! I use Sony TRV series with Stamina for analog, mic jack XR resolution High Band analog is pretty dang good, and no LED crap light!
great review man, quick question I'm looking into buying a camcorder for filming fireworks i will be setting off this summer...how is the sound quality on this camera once the video is up on a site like youtube.
@hobson So far, I think the built in mics are good. There's a Wind function that reduces the sound level, but won't work well in a live indoor music performance, that's why recommended mic jack is the way to go, the cheap cams typically lack these options
Ummm all I have tried is the MicroSD card, and if they are different sizes (I'm presuming they are) then only MicroSD cards will work. Thanks for subbing, by the way!
@tootsierollfan101 On regular SD, and yes, you can save pics and movies to either, or....unlike older camcorders, but you can make stills on miniDV format, there is also HD MiniDV available

Hey,im getting this camera,and i am a ghost hunter/investigator and does this have a place where i can attach an IR (Infrered) adapter or an LED light attachment? thanks.....
The camera doesn't to my knowledge support lights or adapters. It does have a built in light and a microphone mount, but after a thorough searching of the camera I have only been able to identify a component, AV, HDMI, SD and microphone slots. Hopefully I could help you out, and I would of course recommend looking at it in person at a store to insure it does/doesn't have what you need.

So this camera... you can save on the hard drive and on a MicroSD. Can you use a regular SD card?

@KM6395 LED is on the camcorder, in the front left side. It's crap! I hate LED for lighting things in the dark, it simply is useless to me
