  • There's nothing better than Skynyrd!

  • Ronnies daughter is named Tammy Michelle ...

  • Who had a daughter named Michelle (or is it about a love interest)? My name is Michelle and I remember this song from when I was a child. Skynyrd is still one of my favourite bands, and it's our drinking music when I hang out with my brother (Mr. Saturday night special :)

  • WOW!!!!!! Talk about a blast from the past! I remember when they played at LakeShore Jr. Hi on the westside as the 1% for dances at $.50 cent a head. I also remember the hand painted posters for the dances in Day Glo colors back in 1968. Trying to remember when they changed their name to Lynyrd Skynyrd....

  • I can't even put into words how much I love this band

  • i just realized within the last few days i am in love with a womern named michelle, than today i find a song by the great Skynard which speaks to that love! how do these guys always do that?

  • Love Skynyrd.weird thing is every guy i know has dated a michelle or is married to one.i don,t have pretty like that .

  • allen collins has to be the most underrated rock guitarist ever. he was great in 68. and think of all the music he wrote.

  • this was for his little baby girl

  • This sounds alot like Led Zeppelin. But LYNYRD SKYNYRD RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @whiskeyrockaroller96 Hell yea man. Zeppelin does rock but when I put in one of their cds, I find myself skipping some songs. But when you listen to Skynyrd the only button I push is volume up, and then volume down when the cops are at my door for a noise compliant

  • daddy also has the earliest recorded version of Freebird. It is the rawest and the most honest.

  • @Nanseac1 Is your Freebird version the MCA Muscle Shoals recording or the pre-MCA? Both were superb, but still diferences. Just curious! That was in their very early literal starving artists days, so your mama feeding those boys in the middle of the night was pure kindness! What wonderful memories you must have! Wow!

  • My Daddy recorded this, "Markham" in Markham Sutton and they rehearsed in my Mother's dance studio. Daddy would sometimes bring them home after sessions and Mother would get up because it was in the middle of the night and feed everybody. I remember all of them.

  • @Nanseac1 Are you serious man that is amazing. Do you have any good stories? They must of been real young.

  • Who ever thought it sounded like led zep has heard tunes but never listened to music.

  • This one sounds so much more like Led Zeppelin than Lynyrd Skynyrd..!

  • this was early stuff. it's great but they only got better and better.

  • This was on their first single put out as Lynyard Skynard (I did not make a mistake with the spelling) and not as one percent.

  • This was on their first single put out as Lynyard Skynyard (I did not make a mistake with the spelling) and not as one percent.

  • WOW THAT WAS SO COOL THANKS!!!!!!!!!

  • very cool song

  • just a chorus and a bridge away from being a total classic.

  • Why does this not osund like Ronnie Van Zant singing? Is it because when they were one percent they were quite young and his voice sounded different?

  • @youreveningcoat this was there first single, o song by Ronnie for his daughter Tammy Michelle and it was released as Lynyrd Skynyrd nor one percent.

  • If y'all havent, look at the linked vids to the right >>

This early song is about Ronnie's first child, Tammy Michelle (Freebid Child), from his first marriage, before Judy )& Melody) that most know about....

One of my favorite obscure cuts, since well before I knew the back-story.

Check out Tammy / Freebird Child.....
