@Commiton the Russains did take the brunt of the nazi's assault,,, I seriously doubt that germany could have ever beaten the US and the rest of the allies.' they simply did not have the industrial capacity,,,,, the Germans had nowhere near the naval forces it needed to cross the atlantic, The Soviets tend to forget that their other allies fought off the other axis powers japan and italy with very little help frpom the soviets. not downplaying the incredible sacrifice of the russians,

@TheJake1005 Yes the allies could of have taken Berlin before the Soviets got there, but there was an agreement that that the Soviets, who suffered terrible losses and suffering to the Nazis, would be allowed to capture for the prestige. The allies did not object to this, mainly in part that it cost the USSR 300,000 + casualties to take the city in some of the most fierce fighting in the entire war.
