  • I haven't used a plastic bag since 2010 when I first saw this.

Thank you so much Jenni, rest in peace.

  • 67 people have no soul

  • American Beauty meets AI meets Wall-E. And then some. . .

  • that was quite seriously incredible.

  • I genuinely felt sorry for the bag.. how sad. Brilliant though :)

  • potete mettere i sottotitoli in italiano^ grazie

  • It's the feather in Forrest Gump. Dare I say epic?

  • une merveille de poesie mais que l ont ne trouve pas sous titre en francais;si quelqu un peut me dire ou trouver cette video sous titre en francais merci

  • How do they make a short film about a plastic bag so emotional??

  • don't cry

  • wow so damn btiful way of filmmaking

  • wow... the end just like... killed me!

    Awesome!

  • i am so curious as to how they made this. incredible.

  • i wish she had created me, so i could die. Amazing

  • plastic bags are awesome just blow it up and PAAAAW!! god i love this sound :P

honestly that was a great one!

  • amazing. i feel horrible for being a bagger at a grocery store now.

  • man, that is one co-dependent grocery bag.

  • I agree 100% with the message.

That even if we "recycle" a plastic bag a hundred times by using it over and over and over, it's still a plastic bag and it's still going to live forever and kill fish and pollute the world until we stop -making- them.

There are really only two options are 1. to buy biodegradable, or 2. to drown in a sea of garbage.

  • I don't understand what the message is... is it that we should use biodegradable products?

  • Loved it interesting but what's up with the dr evil voice!

  • This is very interesting, and, sadly, true. Our world is being destroyed by our hand, our creations. Plastic is just one of many of those creations.

  • Yea!! Realy good word!!!

  • Great work. Loved it!

  • haha when he reached the vortex and before the narration, i thought he found atlantis. and the narrator sounds like jude law kind of.

  • this has to be the greatest steaming pile of shit for a video i ever seen

  • Wow,,,, just wow

  • This was great. I love the voice. Somehow I could totally feel for the plastic bag!

  • Amazing. Truly profound.

  • who would have known that such feeling could be projected through a plastic bag... a stunning short film, breathtaking.

  • Truly sad...……...........Heart warming

  • gorgeous film... to inflect such personality into a plastic bag, to draw such sympathy and remorse from the relating viewer... this film was quite an accomplishment.

  • I just took every plastic bag in my house and murdered them. I will continue murdering bags untill I am known as the greatest cerial killer known to man. The bag boy

  • WTF, I JUST SPENT 15 MINUTES WATCHING A BAG.

    AM I HIGH.

  • This made me want to hug a plastic bag. And fine! I did OK!

  • Beautiful...

  • If I were a plastic bag....

  • As both director Ramin Bahrani & Cinematographer Michael Simmonds previously collaborated together; The reader would be well advised to Netflix Man Push Cart (2005), Chop Shop (2007), & Good Bye Solo (2008).

  • True the Continent of Plastic is a direct consequence to the over use of non-organic everlasting petrochemical transport containers. Beautifully shot and edited; this short film breathes life into an inanimate object. This reviewer is looking forward to seeing the look of the new film Paranormal Activity 2 (2010); which also features Cinematography by Michael Simmonds. The reader would be well advised to Netflix Man Push Cart (2005), Chop Shop (2007), & Good Bye Solo (2008); As both director R

  • Trolls aside; this is a brilliant short film, pressing the message of responsibility. The film is in essence the journey shared by most plastic in the world. Created to serve a purpose & then spit out.. Or, If One can anthropomorphize a plastic bag; would this be the life story, as it were, of the plastic bags around us? On the other hand is this simply another environmental message? True the Continent of Plastic is a direct consequence to the over use of non-organic everlasting petrochemical t

  • i LOVE the RESPONCE to my calling this video a LIE the personal attacks and misinformation is a joke , if any one can read you can look on the bag and see what it is made of and most bags are marked where they are made !

and yes they are still made in the USA clearly marked on the bags , like home depot , lowes, WAL MART, krogers ( i could not believe it myself ) and they also offer RECYCLING BINS.next the plastic you talking about is HDPE ,do you drink milk ? it comes in HDPE CONTAINERS !

  • Great video, thanks for sharing that with all of us!

  • Beautiful video, I'm at loss for words

    RileyVanceMuzic

Missing a tv show won't change ur fucking life. Making grocery bags biodegradable can change the fucking world.

  • Goodnob

  • It's silly but this film made me emotional.

  • Wow so amazing!!! Luv it!;D

  • I felt the story, and that one line in perticular at the end was about makbig bags biodegradable. :)

  • "I wish you have created me so that I could DIE!" What a powerful message. 2 thumbs up for this short movie! ^_^

  • Just take them to wal mart . They will recycle them . Check out Blake Ballard of the beanie . Funny I got a jack antenna ball tattoo . Spread the smiled

  • Everybody below me commenting is missing the point of this.

  • Would you like Paper or plastic?

  • @prboy2500 bags have feelings too!!! lol

  • So the moral is, if you run into Werner Herzog in a grocery store checkout, do not ask him: "paper or plastic?" You might end up with far more than you expect.

  • i'm sry but i jus cant hear the voice talking, maybe next time there cud be a subtitle :)

but a meaningful movie i shud say

  • @muthia12 have you tried lowering your bass down?

  • kik at plastic bags flying at 10:30 when the trees aren't swaying -.-

  • when does the sequel come out? :)

  • Completely and utterly captured my attention throughout the entire video. Great Short Film! i plan to post this on my FaceBook & Twitter!

  • Who knew plastic bags had emotions.

  • why they dislike this? cant get them.

  • @IMAHOBO2 lol i love this comment

  • omg....this movies better then titanic xDDDD

  • wow that was fantastic! it was awsome !!

i never really thought about how plastic bags could have a story like that, and i am most defienetly going to save my plastic bags now.

  • That was absolutley beautiful T.T Who never thought a plastic bag had such a story?

  • Brilliant!

  • This guy's voice is so annoying.

  • ..I'm gonna keep all my plastic bags now.

  • that was wonderful, I will never look at a plastic bag in the same way again. thank you.

  • I think they could of been more creative with the subject..

  • Unbelievable that the plastic bag is the main actor of the movie!., Plastic bags don't have feelings people!., I think

  • the bag had dog shit in it, why would you not throw it away?!?

  • now imagine what that bags life would be like if it was thrown in the garbage and dumped in a landfill, let your plastic bags fly free!

  • @saltedsidewalk He's suffering. The overly dramatized moral to kill your bags. They want to die

  • THIS IS A WASTE SURE PLASTIC IS BAD BUT COME ON

  • dont you remember the tree huggers swore that plastic bags were going to save the forests

  • Plastic bags have rights! Set free all your plastic bags!

  • Ignore the video, listen to the audio, and pretend he's a condom. Way funnier.

  • Did i really watch all 18 minutes of this? Yes I did. Did I regret it? Hell No!! :D

  • Awwwwwwww "I wish you had created me so thaat I could die" :(

  • @CrazedPogostik i was like "awww" but then i remembered..we created it so that it wouldn't live. So it works out

  • This guy thinks he's being artistic. haha

  • THAT GUYS VOICE IS CREEPY YEEEEEEEEEEES

  • @Treblinka2012 EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT!!!

  • @frogheelover He sounds like that old actor Peter Lorre look him up ....OH YEESS LOL

  • @Treblinka2012 Oh my god your so right! I was LOLing so hard when i heard his voice cuz its like creepy how much they sound alike! :O

  • Kill me now, this is amazing.

  • The Narrator sounds like Arnold Schwarzenagger [sorry if I spelled it wrongly]

  • Jesus Christ thats deep. I'll never look at one of those the same again

  • wow this is really depressing especially the part when he says i wish you created me so i can die

  • Someone had to much spare time... lol!

  • 7:10 mw2!!!!

  • This was actually quite amazing! I wasn't going to watch the full 18 minutes, but I couldn't stop! :D

  • this is why stem cells and genes must not be tampered with.

  • moral of the story: tie two bags together and they will be happy forever! :P

  • "Some ate pieces of me until they realized I was useless to them. I wonder where those little pieces are now. " That's touching.

  • I almost cried. This is really good.

  • this vid creeps me out and all i keep sayin in my mind was im wasting my life on thiss

  • I just drew a picture of Antoine Dodson in MS Paint! See my video!

  • second that

  • haha my fav part is "LOOK AT THIS BEAST..SLOBBERR ALL OVERR ME!!" 3:42

  • I bet 1000 pretzels they didn't get that bag out of the ocean. Also it sounds like Microsoft Sam is talking.

  • A whole 18 minuet movie about a plastic bag searching for it maker? Lol, wtf? Is the a comedy?

  • @mang0scango me to

  • How many bags were used to make this video?

  • @JackEssGamers shut your ugly snout you twat mango. Jesus christ.

  • WTF?

  • beautiful

  • :O A SHARK!!!!!

    at 14:34

  • I LOVED this!! It takes the kind of relaxed attention one would have during meditation, but it's a wonderful story and beautifully shot.

  • How many plastic bas they use to make this video ?

  • an 18 minute, 33 second long unsuccessful guilt trip.

  • In the sequel, this retarded bag is harvested, from the vortex, by the US Office of Naval Research and heat-extruded into UV resistant plastic decking and floatation pontoons for at-sea operations platforms. This (so-called) "story" could have been told in 5 minutes (total) and produced by a HS student with a $300 camcorder and a $40 water housing (VholdR Contour). I can't believe that ALL these organizations and partners put their names on it. The V.O. is particularly sophomoric. wtf?

  • This lady obviously has never heard of a purse.

  • @Caboose2320 a purse used to clean up dog shit?

  • @americiancomrade No just use a plastic bag for that! I mean to stope all her stuff in!

  • I LOVED this video was amazing!!!!!!!! It struck a nerve in me wow! Beutifull i wanna make videos like that when I older!

  • wow and last time i went to the beach i threw my soda into the ocean. i hate myself

  • omg, this is so Amazing! Great, GREAT FILM! It means so much on so many different levels. Spirituality, relationships, courage and even recycling. I love it. Thanks for Posting! :)

  • Even tho I am a tree-hugger and a re-cycling advocate who uses green shopping bags, I am laughing out load at ALL the RESOURCES spent on this silly production. Cute? Yes. ... Educational? Marginally. ... But no real suggestion of final solutions.

... I mean ... I was in tears laughing at the credits and partners ! How many people does it take to chase a plastic bag around the block? I could have done this entire piece, myself, in one week ... total budget $2K (Cameras included).

    TRENDING?

  • 2:30 "I met her friends, she trusted me" *grabs ass* plastic bag is a perv.

  • This is just fucking creepy.

  • This is how life really is.. And this was the best video I've ever seen on Youtube.

  • interesting........... very interesting........ life as a plastic bag

  • Kinda reminds me of that one scene from American beauty...

  • wicked...

  • I'm not the retard that hates all art and I'm not the douchebag that tries hard to look like he loves art.

I have a sense of beuty, good, bad movies.

Good, bad poetry and good and cheap american drama.

    And this is fucking garbage.

  • @kaa3164 One thing's for certain, you have a poor sense of spell checking.

  • @orsations

    No.

You're wrong and this is my third language.

People never comment something like that at mentally challenged americans who can't speak their own language.

  • @kaa3164 I don't care what your first language is. Your spell checking failed and you're trying to excuse yourself for it, saying it actually didn't fail. Grow some balls and a couple more neurons.

  • @orsations

You either have serious physical damage to your brain or you're trolling.

Basicly I said, fuck you, you're wrong. As your damaged brain can't see, that's not an excuse.

  • @kaa3164 u mad?

  • Who keeps a plastic bag for so long!!

  • This should be sown at schools!

  • wow. never thought a plastic bag could star in its own movie. had to choke back a tear at the end. sad sad sad. fyi, if ur ever bored and have a plastic back and a fishing pole, you can make a kite 0XD

  • this is beautiful, clearly.

but damn girl, just pick up the poop, don't like fondle it and smear it all over your floor.

  • Omg this is so amazing, like aaaaa

  • BRAVO!!!!! BRAVO!!!!

  • fuck this crappy movie

  • @BenjaminFroberg agreed

  • very moving :')

  • genius

  • this was the most boring 18 mins of my lfife....

  • Haha nicceeee xD

  • Seems like an over-dramatic long as hell recycle commercial.

  • @Chimpalimp1001 youre missing the point.

  • @lilbluehersheykiss And what point may that be? That we should make our material biodegradable? That's a good idea, but doesn't need a 17 minute long commercial for it.

  • @Chimpalimp1001 well there are many points, but i perceive the journey of the bag, apart from, yes, being a STATEMENT about the environment (not a commercial), to be a metaphor for the human condition. how the fish took pieces out of the bag? how everyone just used it? and there's more. but yes, this film is very environmental. what's wrong with that? you need to revise your definition of a commercial.

  • i put a plastic bag over my grandmother's head

  • I agree... The whole thing was well thought out. Only it needs a Morgan Freeman voiceover instead.

  • what accent is
