In Tanzania there are two tests performed to diagnose HIV. The first test is a benchmarker. It is very sensitive to all immune deficiencies. The second test, named determine, is only used, since it requires refrigeration and is more expensive, if the first, broader test tests positive.

"this test should NOT be used to determine the absence or presence of hiv infection" - from the hiv test kit label. why does pregnancy cause an hiv test to turn out positive?
