My boyfriend took me to see MK two years ago in Syracuse, New York. Im 23 now and Knopfler's been my favorite musician since I was about 10 and first discovered him through my father. Im not going to lie. I had to hold back tears when I saw him standing in front of me live. Nobodys ever struck me with their music like MK. Hes a modern Beethoven. Not only a great guitarist, songwriter, but also a masterful composer. Brilliant man.

Knofler read Krocs autobiography "Grinding it out" and was apalled of his greed and cynicism. Most of the passages in the song are derived directly from the book. I read the book and Kroc is indeed worthy of the criticism, though I doubt he'd be anything less than indifferent to it - so you can probably say he'd be honored in a way. The business of business isn't about morale, not when Kroc was around anyway.
