also the one that crashed its not that big of a deal all he needs is a new propeller couple hundred MAYBE. not bad. thats kinda why i dont like bush planes cuz they tip over too easy.
@FSX7340 yea, i hear it now. The first time was on my phone with headphones. I like the sound real low just encase i run into a screamer :/ check out the first plane. I do believe he struck the tail!
@FPVandotherprojects Oh he did, doesnt mean he cant fly it. One idiot who rented a DA-40 at my airport propstriked a DA-40 somehow and took off with it again claiming he didnt know it was damaged.
@Warrantti The big soft wheels began for their ability to roll over head-size rocks , when operating in Alaska; landing on sandbars & riverbeds. Here , despite their weight & drag , they allow a bigger Rotation-Angle on Take-off , due to the raised Axle-height from extra diameter. Swings & Roundabouts, really. My guess is the fashìon's wrong.Low-drag Lightness levitates best (on smooth ground).
@Warrantti For landing on REALLY rough surfaces possibly with very large rocks, crevices, what not. It's a complete necessity in a rugged landscape such as you find in the far Northwest into British Columbia and Alaska.
Is the prize for the comp really worth risking a $1000 prop (yes, it could be less) and a couple of $k worth of motor - let alone the airframe? They're interesting to watch but it looks like a great way to wreck a perfectly good aircraft.
just seemed like one when he hit the brakes and flipped over thats all maybe a great pilot with a bad day Alaskan Pilots are the BEST i know hands down I am a Helicopter pilot thousands of hours and dont push my AC to limits thats all
WHY WHY WHY do this shit your guys keep pushing the AC to the limits they will bite you. O bunch of guys showing off then get mad when the AC fights back SAFTEY SAFTEY SAFETY
@LaRobertos wel.... its a sport what do you expect. we are tailwheel pilots. and beyond that BUSHPILOTS. We know the dangers of flying low and slow and honking on the brakes haha. its a refined skill. I dont think an aerobatic pilot could jump in a supercub and do what we do nor we could jump in an extra 300 and do what they do. and I have done both. I have a friend that owns a 300 and he flies a supercub but hes no bushpilot.
@BayHike ok good point I guess but still not good for aviation but still good point on your end guess thats why there is more tham one view point. Onr thing most stunt pilots are trained for years before try stunts not some weekend worriers
