i do agree with you, and i dont like the idea of people taking advantage of the government when everyone is paying higher taxes to support them, but at the same time it is hard to say what we are going to have to do to crawl our way back out of the abyss that is america right now. i do think that higher taxes would help with the economy honestly, because we really need money to be going back into our government to make us strong again. we all need to unite to be awesome again.

I think in a boxing match Obama's height and reach could give McCain problems in the early going, but McCain's experience as a boxer in the Navy would prevail and he would bore in and smack Barak at will, ultimately testing his jaw and ending in a TKO by the 5th round. Socialism kills economies. and you have to find out what Obama's definition of "rich" is....it is probably not as "rich" as you think.....his definition of "rih" is more like "middle class". These programs he is promoting cannot be funded by simply taxing the wealthy, so it will trickle down to everyone one else as this is not a new strategy. The oil taxes will simply be passed down to the consumer.

he wants to raise taxes on all buisness. Small buisnesses make up the majority of buisnesses. Therefore taxing small buisness owners, which typically arent rich. Plus, those extra taxes would carry on to us in price gouging. Look at the whole picture, not just the surface numbers.

just so everyone knows, most places where there is socialism, there is also democracy, so if it wasnt working they would VOTE against it. i am not rich by any means (probly about a grand in the bank) but i am more than happy to start paying higher taxes to support a just government. i would rather pay out of my own pocket to help people get the health care they deserve, rather than pay for a war over oil, and pay to have my fucking phone tapped.

First, this isnt a war over oil. Why didnt we get oil during Gulf Storm? Why is Iraq just now beginning to start the beginning phases of exporting oil? With that, good for Iraq! That will bring more money to their country so we dont have to pay for them. As for health care, it doesnt take a genius to see the horrible flaws in socialized medicine. Just look at the long lines in Canada. Now, speak for yourself. I cant afford gas, how can I afford more taxes?

believe what you want to believe about the war, but we attacked a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 so whether it is over oil or not really does not matter, considering how many innocent people have died ( on our side and theirs) and honestly do you think what we have going for us right now is working? it is hard to say if i would enjoy paying higher taxes for socialized medicine and all, but all i know is that the lines for the emergency room are wicked long here too, and we are paying.

i will believe what i want about the war. until you've seen the many people that suffered under saddam and are now free, you will never know. ive lost friends in that war and i know that they did what they did because they felt it was worth it. the commonwealth foundation found that 57% of canadians had to wait 4 hrs in ER compared to 23% in US. Today, Canada is at its all time high in wait times for all treatments

I opposed the war and the attack on civil liberties (patriot act)- however, I oppose socialism as it requires mandatory involvement. You make a good point that they haven't yet voted (completely) against it, but given the choice to opt out, do you suspect many would?
Would you agree it makes sense to help those who absolutely don't have the means to support themselves rather than trying to cover everyone, which might result in an overburdened system (considering the way Americans consume?)

i do agree with you, and i dont like the idea of people taking advantage of the government when everyone is paying higher taxes to support them, but at the same time it is hard to say what we are going to have to do to crawl our way back out of the abyss that is america right now. i do think that higher taxes would help with the economy honestly, because we really need money to be going back into our government to make us strong again. we all need to unite to be awesome again.

Socialism has only been effective when those participating do so willingly- otherwise its human nature to abuse any system (as you described).
Although I've switched to medicine, I got my bachelors in economics. I support a system that leaves the economy to the ppl, while the government simply ensures everyone plays by the rules and helps those who can't help themselves. I don't like someone in Washington making decisions for me.

I would rather vote for one who wants to make life better for the working class (less taxes for those who make under $250,000), improve public schools, make health care more affordable, etc. than someone who spent the last four years voting 100% EXACTLY with Bush!
