The accuracy of subtitles here - spelling, syntax etc - is of little importance. The general thrust of the interviews are captured. More importantly we read the faces of those involved - their eyes and facial lines speak eloquently to us.This is a truly extraordinary film.
I agree, many subtitles do not reflect what some people said. For such a cause, I can offer to correct them professionally if the author wants me to get involved. Obviously, I would do that free of charge.
Are these the original subtitles from the DVD? You'd think that a project 11 years in the making and with such deep, historical and cultural importance would hire a native anglophone to translate, or at least to edit the subtitles...
