These are copied vocal lines from Oi Dromoi Pou Agapisa by Eleni Vitali, greek song from 1991. So much for her "new and unique sound"... Maybe the Greek publisher will get paid what's due to him/her.

@amp1959ful I just dialled up Oi Dromoi Pou Agapisa on Youtube, it means "The ways that I loved" from what my Greek friends tell me and it is a truly beautiful song and a good example of how, even though I do not understand a word of Greek, emotions can be projected across languages, but it is in no way the same or even that similar to Video Games so your claim of plagiarism is completely unfounded as both songs are unique to themselves. I shall now go and find some records with Eleni Vitali!

For those who haven't heard, Oi Dromoi Pou Agapisa is a greek song by Eleni Vitali in 1991 with vocal melody lines way too similar to Del Rey's Video Games for there not to have been plagiarism. @peterqvortrup your comment reminds me of this idea I've read: "See, now a beautiful obscure foreign song is getting exposure. Win win situation!" But unless Vitali and her publisher and whoever wrote the song got paid... when there's copyright violation, exposure isn't accepted by the courts as payment.

@amp1959ful I work with IP copyright as part of my job, and I can tell you that whilst there are similarities between Oi Dromoi and Video Games they are in no way strong enough for it to be considered a breach sufficient to warrant a case for a violation, and even if it was you would have to prove that Lana had knowledge of the song in question, because otherwise the similarity would be considered coincidental. In other words you would have no case to demonstrate.
