  • this is a really good tutorial! but my fingers died in the process

  • hes right it is in Drop D morons and nice tutorial btw bro

  • @apples21879 I just happen to play it in drop d, i believe the original is C# which makes the fretting completely different. but yes, i did it in drop d.

    thanks for clearing it up!

  • Can I request a song?

I would like to learn SOCIAL FAKER by UnsraW... I'm not sure if you heard of them yet but they're an awesome J-METAL and Visual Kei band.

  • @magma3000 Of course we know of UnsraW xP That's a good suggestion though. I have a couple videos that I'd have to do first, but I can start working on it. It's a pretty easy song, but seems like it would be fun to play. - ImmortalReaver

  • its in c# lolz

  • Dude I gotta give it to you, what you are doing is great for people who wanna learn songs from their fav bands. You must hav alot of patience to teach step by step!

    Thanks dude keep doing this!

  • Ty a lot for this

    this is fcking toturial

  • Dude is not a weird tuning!...is drop c# or Db from the top string to the last...the way you are teaching is harder...but good playing in that way...much harder than it actually is...because of the string note spacing

  • Dammit! I have small hands and fingers..

Oh well i guess, anyways thanks for posting this up, it's really good! ^^

  • @lilkitty100

Then instead of playing E3 and A8 (im reffering as if they were in standard tuning) play the A8 as a D3.

    A string 8 = D string 3

    Hope that helps!

  • @spyro201

Thanks! I never would have thought of that! It helped a bunch :D

  • It's fine :)

  • Thanks a bunch played it in drop c# sounds great.

  • the whole album is in drop c#

  • Nice job on the video, you're a pretty good teacher :) The only thing I wouls suggest is maybe playing some parts really slow so people understand the pattern more. I'll definitely be subscribing and checking out your other videos o__x

  • thanks for the comment. due to the 10 minute limit of youtube, i had to cut it short. hope you can learn the pattern of the song through listening

  • I learned it just fine, much faster than learning by a tab or by ear, haha. Nice job on the videos :)

  • you rock~~~

do u do bass too?? i want to know jrock songs on bass

  • i used to play bass but not so much anymore.

  • Your tone sounds really great, man!

  • thank you!

  • then i guess you dont need this video

  • i dont think its in drop C#, the whole withering to death album was in Drop D...

  • the whole withering to death album was not written in Drop D Vulgar with the exception of a few songs were written in Dropped D

  • i actully think it might have been

i checked the band score, and the final is definitely in drop D, but i'm definitely sure they play it in drop C# live, which is played considerably different then the album counterpart.

  • its drop c#

  • Im sorry to say that this version is not right. IFirst of all, if u look at Kaoru's fingers from Live concert, his fingers arent stretched as this video says it is. Nice try though

  • As the instructor said, its obviously not the exact as the original artist. Thank you for watching

  • do u know any of the lead riffs in Nightmare songs? i can learn the solos by ear but i suck at chords, well in nightmare songs.... lol

  • how old do you have to be to be a instructor cause i would like to post some videos of lessons to teach jrock songs

  • we dont have an age limit, but as long as you have gutar experience. Our main concentration is earing music as much as possible, so hopefully you have some background there. Send us a personal message with your background and we will respond accordingly. thanks for your comment!

  • drop D plus half down all strings... im sure.

  • can you write this in tabs?

  • do you think you could do the solo to kodou?

    xD

  • Hey Yuhki, couldn't that stretch thing in the intro be played by simply playing the same note on the D string instead? It'd require some string skipping but it be a lot easier to fret.

    //John

  • John,

i guess thats also possible, i didnt look into the song too much so i havnt been able to try different ways. I pretty much figured it out on the spot, and then recorded it. ill look into it more on upcoming vids

  • THANK YOU!

Do you think you could write this out at some point? I'm definitely going to be watching this a few more times.

  • what do you mean by write this out?

like make a score for it? or write the instructions down in words

  • Either.

I had to type out a lot of what you said, and it was pretty hard (and not completely accurate).

I appreciate the video, though. I just can't bring my guitar over here.

  • im glad we have Dir en grey fans here. My apologies for the inaccurate tutorial (since i dont have the score book)

but i hope you all enjoyed watching

  • i sed dad you kul be tuning on C or C# to get an isi plei of this song

  • dick head ! porke no la intro kon la 4º kuerda en ves de estirar tanto el dedo en la 5º

  • i understood Dick Head, so im gonna assume ur talking shit. FUCK OFF

if you wernt being offensive, then my apologies, please comment in english.

  • Awesome! :O God.. I wish I'll learn this song someday

  • thats exactly why this video was made :)

    good luck!

  • wow this is great ^^

  • Tuning is C#G#C#F#A#D#, you're in the wrong tuning

  • He's right the the tuning is C#G#C#F#A#D# and if you want to know who's playing what part Kaoru is coming out of the left speaker and Die is coming out of the right speaker.

  • Die also plays the chords, the little synth thing that you hear in the background of them playing is not kaoru playing either.. It's just a piano, Kaoru goes the octave lower, Die goes the octave higher. Die's chords are also all the way towards the 9th and 11th fret. Kaoru is quiet first verse, second verse he replays the intro

  • You really look up to Die huh :)

  • Yep, Lol

  • I can tell lol I'm sure you can tell I look up to Kaoru too lol

  • Lol yeah obviously

  • Lol is it that obvious?

  • I'd imagine so since me and you are somewhat the same, you do nothing but kaoru covers and im always playing dies lol

  • Lol you've got a good point

  • yea mate, mine problem was intro too. thanks a lot for this video and could you make a dir en grey - kodou lesson i got one problem there :( thanks a lot:)

  • thanks dude. the real major problem i had with this song was the intro.

    you just saved my life

    xD

  • You could always play the intro like 3rd Fret 4th string then 3rd fret 6th string. Pretty much you could bar the 3rd fret and then use your middle to push the 4th on 6th string.

  • thats what i was doing before xD

i tried both ways. the one he uses didnt work to well for me xD
