Mandarin Chinese lesson with Yangyang - Grammar lesson 008 (forming a yes/no question)

Hm, help me out here, please.

So, if I get it, "China" is 中国 (Zhōngguó)

And in a past lesson you said "I am not Chinese", where "chinese" was 中国人 (Zhōngguó rén).

Now you say "You can speak Chinese", where "chinese" is 中文 (Zhōngwén).

So 人 changes a country to a nationality and Chinese as the language is 中文?

I know it isn't the topic of this lesson, but I really "need" to know whether I can use 人 for other nationalities as well)

@Vojife Your comment is 2 months old but i'll just reply. yes you can put 人at the back for nationalities. e.g. America=美国， American=美国人，France=法国， French person=法国人，Spain=西班牙， Spanish person=西班牙人

One way of recognizing this way of asking a question is if it sounds like the person stutters in the middle of the sentence. Now if I could only understand the rest of the question being asked. I need to learn more Mandarin! Xie xie, Yang Yang!
