I've been playing this tune since my early days.It's just perfect country and inspiring.

Dear John is of course my favorite in their tunes for 2 two album....

20 years later as i'm playing it now it still brings back all the memories.

This is an all time favorite...

The album with her holding the pen is called "Here's the Answer" where she sings answer songs to all the then big hits. It has been released on CD but is now out of print.

Nice tune though. I was in the Airborne abroad when a real tough soldier, got a Dear John. He cried all day, wouldn't speak to anyone.The traditional way of dealing with a Dear John was to pin it to the official Company Orders notice Board(which all were required to read daily)

Everybody knew then, and all ranks cut him some slack. It showed us how selfish some women were too!
