this vid just made me think of something... with the huge rising popularity of smartphones with the HD quality camcorders, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up seeing more than a few people recording their own car accidents. not a prediction and i'm not saying you weren't paying attention to the road but I wouldn't be surprised to see more than one POV traffic accident caught on a smartphone.

btw, I should be getting mine (Fascinate) within the week.

question about the HD video recording: can you tap a portion of something on the screen to manually focus?

@noc215 nope it doesn't... I'm not sure if that's hardware or if that can be added to the camera app with an update.

@Brik182 ouch... sometimes I wonder why some features are missing on these high end phones, such as camera flash. it's like samsung doesn't intend on competing with the iphone4 with the captivate. nevertheless, i placed an order on the captivate and should be getting it soon

@noc215 the missing features aren't dealbreakers... I like it so far and glad I'm out of Apple's grasp. LOL (former iPhone owner)

Audio Bit rate: 61kbps

Channels: 1 (mono)

Sample Rate: 16 kHz

Couple that with the microphone being very, very sensitive and my hand cupping the mic end of the phone.
