Believe us, its wonderful our son has the implant and its great. Of course needs Years of speech therapy but at the end is priceless.

Meet the FIRST Ecuadorian Deaf kid with Cochlear Implant in Toronto (03/17/1993).

To watch our son videos just search: First Cochlear I.- Primer Ecuatoriano

  • i was watching this documentary on HBO with a similar story with an elderly couple who were also given the opportunity to hear after some 60 add yrs. Its good to c ur son got through at an early stage in his life bcuz he is still in the learing and dapting stage. And thats the problem that couple had so they became quite aggravated at times and couldnt make out many sounds. Good luck!!

  • oh my gosh his response was so cute!!!

  • that is truly amazing! i'm so glad for your son!

  • I love the little sounds he makes. SOOOO Cute!

  • What a beautiful baby boy. Congrats on a successful activation. Your son will have great oppurtunities. The first time you hear "mama" etc.. will be priceless try to get it on film. My daughter has bilateral implants and absolutely loves listening and talking to people. She loves to sing and dance. It is a joy to watch. Enjoy all of it.

  • where do you live to get bilateral implants????? they tell me they wont do them here! I live in BC canada

  • It gives them a huge chance in life, they always have the choice of living either way later on. The modern world still isn't fully equipped to accommodate deaf people.

But it is fully yours and their choice so it doesn't really matter, and it is natural as you said.

  • unbelievable, the most amazing thing I have seen :)

  • how cute lol he hears it
