Not a great video, and his finger kept getting in the way in the beginning, but the camera man (my son) was only eight at the time so not his fault, or my concern.
I wish I can fly RC planes someday, so far all my spare times are filled with stupid long range shooting with scoped rifle like I did in Afghanistan. But they seems so expensive, I guess I'm not gonna get one very soon... =(
Any ideas of how or where to get one of them cheap?
Awesome, I am a big gun guy myself. Love the assault rifles, need to get some videos up when I shoot at my buddies range. Anyways, you can find these kits at GravesRC online. This kit goes for under 100.00 dollars. You have to buy all the electronics, plus radio and receiver. With that said, you can spend anywhere in the range of 300.00 to 500+ price range to get it to fly.
Yes the disc was in place . I think it was the shaft that broke first as I had to drill out the shaft to 3.17mm , I think that weekend the Walls of the shaft and it sheared .
My plane was ok , I am fishing around for a new motor myself now. As the forces bent the shaft,
Have you seen the new Lander units , they doa 76mm unit motor and fan for around £99
Also check out a site in uk called Giant Cod . They do some relatively cheap stuff , but read the reviews first on thier products , there Tipple Bateries are excelent , rated at 5c charge rate,
Just tried out my j10 again this time before it got in the air using a 4 cell 14v pack the fan exploded in the model sending the blades through the fusalage sides , o well back to the drawing bourd
Damn! I heard of others having their GWS fans explode like that. Did you have the disk support inside your fan? Most older kits did not provide the disk support for the rotor hub, but the newer models do. I have not had any issues with my stock fan, and it has the disk support as well. Is the damage from the blow out repairable?
Eflite motors take alot of abuse. No problems with over 40 flights on a 4 cell, and 40amp initially, now a 60 amp ESC. I plan to ditch the 440 (originally made for helicopters) and maybe go with a 3800Kv outrunner. Not sure what brand yet, still researching a solid match for now. The GWS J-10 is a stable flying jet, even slightly tail heavy. if you go to far back, it will tip stall as i have learned in the past. luckily, the foam is very tough, and I had to replace one canard.
I got one of these, on the first flight the stock motor that came with it burnt out . It was strugling to stay in the air . I used a 2200 lipo. What moror are you using and is the
c of g in the place specified in the instructions .I have just tried it again with a black mantice inruner 4200 kv on 3s 2100ma
The motor I use is a Eflite 440 inrunner on a Eflite 60 amp ESC powered by a 3300 Mah 4 cell LiPo. For this video, i used a 2200
Mah 3 cell and a 40 amp ESC. The factory CG is spot on, but i fly all my delta wing jets slightly tail heavy, mine is around 3mm further back from the factories furthest recommendation.
Could you get the camera guy to hold the camera steady? Sheesh. Unwatchable.

Thanks for that info I am going to try mine on a
4cell loonmax 2300ma 25c to get a bit more power
I will try moving the. C of G back to the rearmost point also.
That 440 motor is only rated at 25 amp is it running ok ?as I am pulling
45amps with my blackmantis 4200kv inrunner ,I love the looks of this model .
