  • veryyyyyy nice man

  • Worked like a charm. Fantastic! Now I can make Let's Play videos successfully! I just tried to make my first one, and in the editing stage, I nearly gave up from the stupid syncing issue.

One question: the step where you change the frame rate, instead of typing in the number, couldn't you just choose the third option: "change so video and audio durations match"? Isn't it the same thing?

  • Yes.

  • Thanks so much, dude! As a new Let's Player, my video desyncing made me think I was done before I started. Your video helped so much! Thanks again!

  • Thank you! It really works!

  • In My Walkthrough i have the same problems -.-

  • I have a problem. I'm trying to record Mother 3 with it. It works, but not near the end of the video, is there a problem with it?

  • OH man, THANK YOU SO MUCH, just what i have been looking for.

  • i have windows vista but it keeps saying:

the compressed (zipped) folder 'C:/users/user/desktop/pokemon games/virtualdub-1.9.11' is invalid

    what do i do?

  • @MrRockinRiolu I had the same issue. Try downloading it again, but from the direct link. (The SourceForge page that says "Your VirtualDub download will start in ___ seconds..." has the link just below that text.)

  • you did it! you are my hero! thanks so much!!!!

  • This worked perfectly! Thanks a lot!

  • It wont let me open the video file into vdub!

  • Awesome, this works, thanks man!

  • good vid and very informative and just what i was looking for but tbh you ruind a perfectly good song :(

  • wat verusn aslo can ?

  • I did it! It worked! Now I can do LP's. Can anyone check out my channel? I've got a few test videos up and I need feedback!

  • HOLY CRAP THANK YOU!!!! I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT ALL FREAKEN DAY YOU SIR AR A LIFE SAVER!!!

  • FYI: If your video becomes too long, download Any Video Converter Free Version and convert your video to a .mp4 file which will be too small :)

  • This helped so much. Now I can finally post my Let's Play videos.

    Thanks! :)

  • ttfaf is my fav

  • Thank you so much for this video. I was trying to do a Metroid Zero Mission Let's play, and the damn video kept getting out of sync.

  • Lil question: My VBA randonly decides to stop recording by himself...does this hapen often?

  • Thank you so MUCH! I'm subscribing for this one video. :)

  • does this work if your using gbc and gb games?

  • I LOVE YOU.

No seriously, thank you SO much.

  • Oh thanks! This is great!

  • Helpful video! Thanks for the help, Kept my file size and quality excellent.

  • Today i saw this so i tried it out i followed all the instructions carefully and the video came out synced and perfect and the best part is that it was the same size and lenght as the original but synced

  • thank you so much man now i can put my lets play vids up with no desync

  • thanks a lot worked great

  • Thanks. Worked great, but I wasn't able to re-write my file. It kept saying that it was in use when virtualdub was the only thing up. Was it because the dub was in progress?

  • Thanks, It worked perfectly for me =D

  • um when I do we have to save our video as a AVI? Because it was a VMV then renamed it to .AVI after that I tried to open it but it said that it was corrupted orsomething...

  • 2Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'xvid' (unknown)

VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not fucking sustable" Wtf?

  • Thanks alot dude, now we can staart our new LP :D

  • thanks to you, I can start a walkthrough! Heck yeah, I'm subscribing!

  • It Works Thanks Man!

  • u should get google chrome its better than IE, mozilla, and safari.

  • yea but dude mine says "Error unable to create AVI file" how can i fix that?

  • Thanks a lot!

  • Thank you very, very, very much

  • @MrMapleKilla Thats VBA's problem most likely. Go to Options >> Frame skip >> and press 0. If you already have it like that, IDK then.

  • I've seen this before, and I still don't know what the font is.

  • thanks man u solved a problem that has been upsetting me for along time now :)

  • man, you rule. thanx alot. all the other tuts say use sony vegans and that dont work at all.

  • I am pretty sure you cant do anythung about that, it just happens

  • Thank you so much for putting this up. This will really help with my Metroid Fusion Lp. Thanks you!

  • Thanks a bunch for this! It really help!

  • Thanks a million for posting this. I really should have gotten off my lazy butt and looked for one of these when I encountered this problem in my FF6 LP.

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks this really helped!

  • it works well with vba, but re-syncing with pj64 games is a nightmare using virtuadub.

but virtuadub works well with vba game files. if worst comes to worst ppl, do a mute walkthru of games emulated from pj64 or psxfin or add music to the background...lolz

  • this better be worth it

and yeah this is worth not the music but this helped me alot :)

  • thank you so much!!

  • Thank you so much! It worked perfectly! Subbed

  • OMG thank you so so much =) You have solved all my LP problems.

  • Let's see... Instead of mine working like a normal person, let's see what crap I get:

"Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'XVID'

Virtual Dub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."

    Hmmm... OOOOOKKKK!!!

  • It didn't work.... :(

  • Thank you so much, i have been trying to find a solution for that for ages, and this ones so simple.

    Again thank you!!!!

  • *note* after u use the program the movie will take huge amounts of spase in your computer! (also youtube will likly not accept it either) if you put it in windows movie makes and publish it (or split and publish each part) it cuts the size about 99.9% (no joke) and the video looks the same (really going from 3.2 gig to 26 KB is very big. tho i recorded about half an hour)

  • 1. Use compression

    2. You just saved a MSWMM file, not the actual video

  • @nrox653 you tell it to save to computer and it is saved in a format youtube will take (look in the help section on youtube)

  • He didn't heed the warning VirtualDub gives when that will happen, either.

"Warning! This video will turn out to be very big. Do you want to continue?"

    Or some pseudo-caution like that.

  • Your spelled space wrong...

  • Thank you very much

  • the ending made me laugh, but thanks for the tip!

  • Man thx for telling us the link. It made my video all in sync thank you

  • Worked perfectly, thank you.

  • will this work for any video out of sync like a wmv video???

  • I have a problem. The videos I de-sync end up becoming way to large. (19+ Gigabytes)

Is there a way to fix this?

  • Either you didn't completely follow the instructions in the video or you never compressed it in the first place.

Try doing it again, and double check if you've set everything right.

  • Actually, I did just that, and managed to fix it myself. (meant to delete the comment)

  • Excellent video I'm using this now. Thanks. Subscribe.

  • actually its not wrong. but you can make it smaller. (im guessing you recorded quite i bit. i record alot to) that LARGE amount is after u use this program. after use windows movie maker to split into 10 minite segments to post on youtube. (make sure to hit publish or youtube rejects it) for some reason it goes down ALOT after this. my 3.12 GB video about 28 minites long turn into about 12 kb each segment (aka 36 total) that shaves about3.1 gig off it XD

  • Great help, thanks.

  • Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You!Thank You! I am ging to sub you! Thank You!

  • wow thanks alot that deserves a sub

  • You are AWESOME

  • I'm amazed O_O it works, and I thought I'm doomed to silence audio and put music instead. Big Thanks :D

  • dude i was just talking about this yesterday, you rule!

  • Flawless victory.

You have no idea how much your video has helped me. Thank you so much.

Finally, now I can do my Mother 3/FFV/Aria of Sorrow playthough series.

  • Now that I've fixed THIS problem, I'm now having trouble with VBA totally skipping out on recording the first half-second of the audio, causing the sound to be AHEAD of the video... I've NEVER had this problem before. Any comments/suggestions?

Great video, though; it helped me a ton with the FIXABLE problem. -_-

  • Hi thanks for your help

  • Nice video it is even simpler than vussj's video so thanks again.

  • Keep in mind mine was first, he didn't make his until 2 weeks later ;)

  • You rock. Now I can record videos for Let's Plays now!

  • 7:00

    ;__;

  • Awesome tutorial! This desync problem has been seriously bugging me FOREVER. The music was good too!!

The only part I didn't like was the promotion of FireFox. T_T

    Google Chrome FTW!!

  • The audio is synced, thanks.

But the video colour is all messed up! everything is in the reverse spectrum of what its supposed to be (blue is red, etc.)

    help?

  • You probably screwed up by choosing a video codec. Make sure everything is set to direct copy.

  • lol i figured this out 2 minutes after i commented a week ago. stupid ffshow vid codec :( thanks tho.

  • It works.

    Thanks.

  • Brilliant, I had no idea this setting existed in VirtualDub. I'm going to try this right now. Thanks for posting this!

  • Oshit! It works!

Thank you so much! Was trying to use Virtual Dub to fix it up before using a few other methods and it wouldn't work, so I was skeptical about this at first but it actually works! :D

  • thanks so much for posting this no more desynched videos for me thank you!!!!

  • Thank you! I didn't record videos longer than about 2 minutes because of the desynching problem, but the program in your tutorial fixed it. =) Thanks for putting the video up.

  • Thx dude! now i need to reupload my FF6 vids :P

  • welll ike wehen i play the VBA for a hilw it starts slowing down to like 50 percent and i have to restart my computer for it to go back to 100 and play for a little, then it goes back down and it gets slow, any help?

  • What font did you use for the captions?

  • Continuum

  • lmao this is throught fire and flames song haha

  • OMG, I tried it and it worked! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

  • thanks now i gotta try it out.

  • thanks you so much, now there is no more lag!

  • this is a great help though. thanks.

  • wow, 3 minutes of tut and 4 minutes of song >.> people should fade out songs more. it's more effective ._.

  • That was so:

    1. It wouldn't look like there was a crapload of compression artifacts in the video under standard quality (black space helps a lot)

    2. I wanted to show my creation off... kinda.

  • Heya thanks for putting this simple tutorial up so I didn't have to go finding codecs for the thing. Also I like the song sped up like that, but without the vocals in the background. :P

  • Thanks a lot!

With this i can start my MMBN4 Walkthrought!

  • Thanks for the syncing help, now I can finally get my Mother 3 (Earthbound 2) Walkthrough uploaded!

  • The problem with GB/GBC games (not GBA) is that whenever there's a loading screen, the video jumps way ahead of the audio. Unless you use the one that is intended for TAS's.

  • nice video. all thanks for you i can fanilly fix my sync problem!

    5/5

  • This is actually something I should thank you for. I have started recording with VBA, and I was actually wondering if my computer had done it.

    Nice fix tutorial. 5/5.

  • Don't you mean yours? AimTaKill-slaved piece of crap.

  • At least nrox653 is not a person like you who subscribes and favorites to porn, being a sub4subbing whore, and being a Halo nerd, which is what you do, AimTaFuck.

  • lol, Jealous that nrox actually has a life & you don't, AimTaBitchAss?

  • Hahaha the loser closed his account! XD

  • Or you can use VBA rerecording.

  • What? That's not going to help, rerecording is meant for TAS.

  • All it does is resync sound, it's not like it slows down gameplay.

  • Analyzed recording in VirtualDub:

    Video frame rate: 60

    Audio frame rate: 60.012

That will cause audio desync, even if it's slightly less.

Additionally there are many bugs and less features in it, so I wouldn't advise using it. And it won't work if you're trying to fix a video that already has sync problems.

  • Well you're only playing games on it, I wouldn't expect you to use many features on VBA, other than fast forward or savestates (rerecording already has that). And even though VBA rerecording has very slight desyncing, nobody's going to notice, I mean, you're kinda nitpicking here.

  • the longer the video the more you can tell. The desyncing is very noticable when for expamle you throw a pokeball but your hear the beep sound of moving in the bag

  • And would you stop thumbing down my comments? I know the feature is available to the owner of the video, but let your audience decide if it's a good comment or not. I just have a different method than you do, it's not like I'm trolling on your video and channel.

  • And that bothers you how? They're just ratings, unless you get -6 no one is going to care. It seems like you're the one nitpicking. I've already said if you already have a video that is out of sync, a fork of the emu is not going to help.

  • Okay well, good day to you.
