RODNEY383 yeah what up man...listen the problem that i have is my ps3 160gb wont play music cd's and regular DVD's--- it plays games and BLUE-RAY's but no music and regular dvd's... when i put the music cd in it just does nothin for like 30 seconds then it sounds like it ejects the disc but it doesn't and thats the end of that ... what can you tell me about that ... i tried the safe mode option 3 but still nothing

@GenisisTheDuo It's pretty simple, just try this. Hold the Power button to power on your PS3 and keep holding it until your PS3 shuts off. Then press your power button again and hold it down you will hear Beep (keep holding the power) you will hear Beep Beep (keep holding the power) you will hear Beep Beep Beep, now release the power button. thats it.

Well I have a ps3 Slim and its 320GB. so i have to buy a new hard drive and backup my data then ill do the resetting thing and ill have to choose setting #4 and then ill have everything back to normal? cuz i have alot of things and i wanna get back to playing T_T..

My PS3 won't read the disc at all. I ejected and re-injected the disc, that didn't work. Could it be corrupted files or may it need cleaned? When it started this (30 minutes ago) it froze at the end of a MW3 match I tried to turn it off by pressing the button, that didn't work so I unplugged it. @NewFireclown I'm not really sure how to fix your problem but I wouldn't keep trying to put the disc in because it may get stuck. Try a Google search and read some forums,maybe they can help :)

@presshallpaul You missed the point entirely, the very task of getting to the recovery menu is to POSSIBLY fix disc read errors. Disc read errors are one of the problems that it can fix. Look at the comments,So many people used this method to fix their disc read errors. Of course it wont work all the time but its worth a shot. You want a definite answer on what will fix your problem and when it doesn't work you throw a bitch fit. Kids these days, grow the fuck up.Not every fix is right for you.

@LoO0Oost It sounds like a disc problem,if it's a new game it may be defective and you should exchange it.If other games work ,it's probably not the Blu-ray lens. So the Recovery Menu may not work for this problem :(

I'm having trouble with Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3 loading. The discs are in perfect shape. All other movies and games work fine. I was wondering if it had anything to do with the 3D? Have you heard of other ppl having the same problem?

@JettRyker If you can't start the game it's probably not the 3D,if its happening in game I guess its possible but not really sure. If it's game specific try searching the net for problems people have with those games :)

@finlandman123 Get a bigger ( usb ) hard drive that has more space then your ps3 and back it up through the backup data option in the menu.There are videos that show how to do this, try to search for one that walks you through it and you'll be fine.

My old PS3 system stopped playing discs. However, having bought the new one which is a PS3 Slim, I went ahead on transfering from the old PS3 to the new PS3. it's as if I had the PS3 Slim for a long time.

Having said that I should be able to have been able to repair this problem. Thus wiping out the old PS3. And then going back to the transfer from the new to the old.

Hey ppl. I just fixed my disk error viewing various techniques. And this seem to worked for me. After going in to the recovery menu. Select option 3 " Restore File System and it will do the rest. No need to back up because it will not delete anything from your PS3. Just select option 3. It will give you a message saying harddisk corrupt and it will automatically fix the corrupt files. Once it takes you back to ps3 home screen. You can see your disk icon back on the menu ..Wohoo..Thx rodney !!
