I LOVE to fly the chopper and am damn good at it.Not trying to brag or anything.But I get so many bad gunners. I have had to literally hover right at ground level with the nose of the chopper on one of the AI's to get some of the gunners to see them. Pisses me off! GUNNERS- If you've got a good pilot, he will generally point the craft in the direction of the enemy. Stop looking all over the damn place.If the pilot is engaging on the move,then engage with him and stop looking off in lala land.

A tip for any pilots. You will get a much higher score if you hover in front of each target as it comes up as opposed to doing fast low altitude passes. Give your gunner a nice steady platform to shoot from as I see it this is your main job NOT going in acting like a stunt pilot. This will net you a faster time and a higher score.

A couple of tips for gunners:

1) The rectangle with the small square inside of it at the bottom of the heli HUD shows the possition of the gun, if you have the small square in the middle of the box you will be looking out the front of the heli and have the same view as the pilot. (doing this should help you keep orientated)

2) Spam the back button to spot baddies.

3) Click the right stick for cockpit view.

4) Be quick with the heat seeking missiles when the AA rolls out.

This mission is actually nothing compared to when people reach the drop em like liquid mission. Near impossible to do in public without mics

My friend and I tried to do this mission over 20 times, and at one point, he just started flying like a pro, and I was shooting. It took us 15 minutes and16 seconds to do it, and it's pretty easy when you learn how to fly the chopper. Just cruise over that ''town''. Oh and when AA guns shoot you, DO NOT PANIC. Nothing will happen, just hold control, it's easy.

Those who can't beat this mission: Just practice. It doesn't take that long to learn to fly the choppers in BF3. This mission is perfect for those who wish to learn the tricks to it.

It might seem cruel to force people to learn or cry and learn. But it's for the greater good; In order to beat this mission, you must know how to fly at least well enough so you can get into a chopper in MP and not have people rage at you.

It's worth it to beat this mission. Choppers are very fun to fly.

I am good at infantry combat, in a tank, in a jeep, in a flak tank . . . but I suck SO BADLY at flying vehicles. I just don't "get" them. I can keep a copter up, but then moving it around is a bit trickier, lol.

This mission is really annoying. To those calling other pilots noobs..Shut up. Sure some of them might actually suck,but some are just learning like myself. The heli is very easy to lose control of..and it's very frustrating to pilot until you learn it. What i hate most is you can't unlock the other missions until you beat this one,which is some pretty big BS since if you can't pass this level..you're stuck with just the 2 missions.

@QuassDebonair Shooting is not hard at all. There ARE AA guns which will need two laser rockets to destroy [press 2 for laser rockets] and the AA guns shoot the chopper, so you might panic... But don't. I mean, smoke will start coming out and some sound is gonna go like beep beep beep, but nevermind that, just keep it steady. Anyway, shootings pretty easy. @QuassDebonair It is indeed very hard. I consider myself a professional Heli flyer but i have quite a few games of Heli experience. It shouldn't be too hard to master and once you do can be incredibly fun.With these games i have probably clocked over 100 hours of Heli time on all battlefieldsi have played. But i recommend players practice the Helicopter in multiplayer before trying the mission.

Hey Diego. I'm having the same problem. Once the guys on the ground are at the compound they say they need air support but their is no one left to shoot. All we do is fly around. I even landed the damn thing but that does nothing. Same thing on the other co-op map at the bridge. We can only hold them off for so long even with all the ammo their. They need to fix this shit.

i'm mixed about this one... if your just learning how to fly, or are stuck with someone learning how to fly. it sucks.. but once i was able to get the flying controls down, it is  a TON of fun... the mobile AA can give you a run for your money - even on easy mode. but it's actually a good mission.. you just have to have patience.

ITS A CHOPPER NOT A PLANE!!! you always dive and then go back and dive again, u waste time with that... a chopper can hang up on the air, so use it! give ur partner the time to aim and kill them. you dont need to use ur rocjets untill a vehicle is appearing. just hang steady on the air and shoot them down with your partner, that's more easy, no? Having a good helicopter pilot on your team is invaluable in Battlefield, especially since there are so few out there. I wish there were more videos explaining chopper flying mechanics in BF3. This vid is good in that it shows the myriad ways you can fuck up, but it's also good because you can follow the learning curve of the pilot.
