In basketball if the other team scores a point, if your still the better team it will mean nothing.

In soccer, if the other team scores a lucky goal like when Robert Green accidentally and somehow missed the ball, it's hard to catch up. 1 goal is a huge thing. In basketball if the other team scores a point, if your still the better team it will mean nothing.

I haven't said soccer is shit like how you say basketball is. I used to play soccer so much and I still play it.

@bluestreak117 I lived in Canada for 8 years. In those 8 years I always called it soccer and so did everyone that I knew there.
American football is called football because it orginated from sports in the UK that were called football back in the 19th century. Football back then basically meant a game where a ball is carried / kicked acroos a line. Later on these sports took on specific names such as rugby and soccer / football.

@rapperaf3 most american english speaking countries? that would be the USA and the USA only. Almost all countries have their very slight dialect of the English language. Soccer and football are also used interchangeably in many countries. The term soccer is even used in England sometimes. Football is just the overwhelming more common term for the sport.
