All champions inevitably lose. What makes them real champions is the way they conduct themselves in the ring and of course outside the ring. To say that he didn't try while copping such unbelievable punishment is to deny him the status he deserves and that is of a Thai legend and also a boxing champion that has been denied to him previously. He beat Lupe Pintor (world champion), Juan Meza (world champion), and lost to Jeff Fenech (Hall of fame champion).
The punishment he took was unbelievable yet he fought on like a true champ. He earned $250,00 for the fight with $100,000 being bet by Sombhop (his manager) for him to win. He actually knocked Fenech to the ground in the first round, Fenech's first time ever standing count (although Fenech said it was a slip) and caught him with a tremendous upper cut in the second round. At the end of the fight he swallowed his tongue and ended up in hospital under observation. Hardly the stuff of a coward.
Samart threw this fight dude, if it was not for the money he would have kick Fenech's ass. Samart once said in his interview before the fight that this will be his last fight and revealed that he had a surprise for the fans in a specific round after that he went in and fight, drop Jeff in the round that he told his Thai-fans and then did the dive for the money and woohoo he's off with the cash and retire his career. So, for those of you who really believe Fenech won this fight, check your fact!
The idiots who think the Thai fighter threw this fight are not only idiots, they're jackasses. NO ONE who throws a fight has EVER taken a pounding like this. It's almost always a flash punch or some type of phantom shot where the diver absorbs very little punishment. The Thai fighter absorbed a wicked beating here by prime Fenech, who'd have kicked his ass ten times out of ten.
Samart is strong, fast and genius. How much people can resit some punch like this.
And how much can have the lucidity to hedge after been weaken like this.A lot of fighters have been KO before. This vid just make me think Samart is a human been and i'm encouraged,it seems everybody have bad days...But how some peopole can doubt about Mr Payakaroon? He is a f*** master!
Pound for pound Australia's greatest fighter. He really captured Australians imagination at the time. He fought the best. His downfall was his week hands, they broke almost every fight!! however and he still won!
TO EVERYONE HERE WHO THINKS SAMART THREW THIS FIGHT, THE WHOLE FIGHT HAS NOW BEEN UPLOADED, SO NOW GO & WATCH IT & SEE THAT FENECH DOMINATED THE WHOLE FIGHT FROM THE 2ND ROUND
poor samart gets wipped by a half asian jeff feddich . samart made a great come back in muay thai becomming fighter of the for the following two years after this mess.
really pains me to watch this fight, as someone who loves payakaroon, muay thai legend that he is. but this was the beginning of a new legend, a boxing legend, and jeff fenech was a brutal, fearsome, magnificent multiple champion.
i know jeff sure won the fight clean...BUT...anyone dare show the first 3 rounds??? when Samart was fresh and not gas out due to dehydration...weight control was his weakness...
@Anatda Jeff won every round. I taped the fight back then and probably still have it somewhere. I have to get over my laziness and convert and post it. Samart tried hard but looked worn down after two rounds. I'd heard a lot of how good Samart was but he just didn't look right on the night.
@wtw88 yeahh Samart was mostly a muay thai fighter. these are one of those fights he chose to fight in to test his ability in pure boxing. if it was muay thai, he would've dominated the ring
@wtw88 Pls don't you lie...if you really have the fight recorded on tape...Then you should be able to see that Jeff got "knock down" by Samart in the 1st Rd, with 8-count!...BUT...After round 2 Samart was "gas out",due to dehydrated from weight control....As usual....
@Anatda Mate you are a fucking idiot, it was a slip & he was up at 2 had to take the mandatory 8 count. Anyone who reads this watch the fight, put into the search engine Fenech vs Payakaroon & you will see the truth.
Dude Samart threw this fight, I don't like to say that fighters throw fights but it happens especially in Boxing or any sport where there's a lot of money involved, so if anyone knows where I can watch the whole fight please post a link.
If you review Samart's other boxing matches he moves constantly around the ring and just about obliterates his opponents with his straights and uppercuts, and about Jeff Fenech being a pressure fighter??? Samart was obviously eating those punches on purpose....
....if you really look closely there were plenty of times Samart purposely dropped his head and didn't cover his face allowing Jeff Fenech to punish accordingly. I mean seriously if you review Samarts other fights he would let himself get hit so easily let alone allow his opponent to be so close to him.
Why's it every time some minority comes up in the sport the white dudes gotta' hate? Ain't trying to start any racist arguments but it's true though especially with asians beating up on whites.
Samart is an all-time great muay thai boxer, and everybody seriously into fighting sports knows this. But he lost this fight because the other guy a beast and had the will and ability to get inside and dictate the pace.If you're going to throw a fight don't get nearly decapitated and find yourself in a world of shit.. Has Payakaroon ever said he took dive?I didn't think so.And remember, I'm a fan Samart's who's of Portuguese heritage, so please don't try to claim I'm racist, ok
No, the guy (me) responding to the post is, so I was just trying to avoid the original poster's POV of some implied racial bias in assessing this fight.
Both are overated. These fighters were both planted and slower than George Foreman and Primo Carnera. Samart learned that Muay Thai is not boxing. Samart absorbed more punches than a Raja, Twins, and Windy heavy bag.

@karabouzouklis People seem to disrespect the portion of an art they can't see themselves winning in. I have plenty of friends that walk away from UFC fights when BJJ plays a role. Plenty of friends that don't want to watch a clinch unless knees are dancing. They love the dominant stuff though, like ridiculous ground and pound or knockout punches. The stuff that isn't an art, just entertainment. Don't be too annoyed over it. I would be grateful to fight a guy in the street that doesnt like bjj.
@karabouzouklis I don't like the way you swear at people but I looked at your channel and the May Mai and Luk Mai video is excellent. Thanks for posting it.
@wtw88 thank you very much!but i think that you misjudged me i dont use to swear at people except when they disrespect great champions.that guy was saying that samart was a bum i believe that he deserved more than a few ''bad words'' ok samart lost that fight from fenech but you cannot disrespect a phenomenon like samart behind your pc screen!
@karabouzouklis That's absolutely right. I wrote something to a Mayweather fan the other day saying it's okay to support your favorite fighters but not to disrespect others (he was writing bad things about Pacman). Great athletes deserve respect, and great athletes mostly have great respect for each other, which goes to show that some of these disrespectful people would not be much good in the ring! All the best to you.
overrated your a joke70mack he took on every champ in his divisions every number one contender everytime with injuries to his hands and beat them all till they screwwed him in the nelson fight
@70Mack You have no idea. He was super fit and really aggressive; a great in-fighter with a solid left to body or head and a tremendous right hand. He didn't have a real strong chin or he would have won even more fights. He won against some of the best fighters in the world and beat Azumah by at least three points in their first encounter.
anybody who thinks Payakaroon--a fighter i really liked and respected---intentionally threw this fight is delusional at best. First of all, you don't throw a fight by nearly getting killed......secondly, Payakaroon was never ever the same after this fight, his career was effectively over
Not to take anything away from Fenech he is a great fighter
But Samart was on a holiday for this fight, he was hitting the pubs and women in Australia from the moment he got there. He made weight by taking diuretics.
it's funny how Samart is always moving around his opponents and attacking in an angle (both in muay tha and in western boxing) whereas in this match he chose to go toe to toe with Fenech.
Markdo you must not have seen the whole fight........he tried moving and punching and he even scored a flash knock down in the first but then Fenech was on him like white on rice and Samart had to fight him in close because he was not strong enough to run anymore due to his battle to make the weight for this fight. That and Jeff was the best pressure fighter around back then.
@Anatda The reality is he couldn't knock Fenech out in the first 3 rounds so he knew he wasn't going to wear the Marrickville Mauler down he could've been the fittest man on the planet and he still would've lost .
@fejkram fact is if Samart was not dehydrate and gas coz he took "DIURETIC" for loosing weight...he would not go with the inside fighting...exchange punches in close range like a BULL is not his style. He is more of a skillful tatic boxer. move in and out fast with heavy punches..Then again there is no exuse... he really loose this fight...lesson for good boxers..DISCIPLINE... is the Key to victory!!!
was a real mistake u know especially fighter as strong as fenech alwais should keep working the jab also double jab never ever low distance , samart never change his style during entire carriere and that was a limit (he was a good fighter)
Inside fighting may not look as fancy, but if it's so simple then why does Fenech dominate here? Every punch Payakaroon throws either gets blocked or dodged, while Fenech lands shot after shot.
It looks just like mindless waling away to someone new to the sport, but believe me there is a lot of technique here. Sure they wouldn't put this in a movie, but this is highly technical fighting.
This is mostly why I feel boxing is losing fans. People want fighting to look like Hollywood.
soodlorr you are not that smart. If you want to talk about skill in the manner that you have, then Mixed Martial Arts clearly requires more skill than Muay Thai fighting. Mixed Martial Arts encompasses all of Muay Thai and also have the ground aspect with take downs and submissions. soodlorr you are not so wise when you speak.
Thank you Harbach for being so polite to me and not calling me stupid I don't have knowledge about Inside fighting and Powpanda explain it to me. Now I gain some knowledge. I didnt mean to be impolite. If my first post seem to be that way then I'm sorry.
That’s right.Fenech was a beast at cutting the ring off with his shoulders to dictate the space and balance of the exchanges in close range. He also pushed off and wrestled guys a lot to wear them down and keep them at close-quarters. Combine this with his unparalleled stamina and underrated power, and he was a real beast for ANYONE from 118 -126.
He had his flaws for sure, check the Navarro fight, but in his prime he had the confidence and conditioning, and he did, and then some.
Yeah, but there's way more to fighting than technique alone - it's all about flow & creativity, wit & mind-games (as well as general practicality + controlling/reading options).
Samart's easily a more talented fighter than Fenech (though Mr. F's still amazing), as he has accomplished way more in Muay Thai than Fenech in boxing. His MT style was one of the most fluid, beautiful and dominating in history, like Ray Robinson quality, just that Samart was more a MT specialist than a boxer
Fenech was a far more agressive fighter than Samart period....A fighter is a fighter in any code and Jeff would have beaten the shit out of Payakaroon what ever code they fought, muay or boxing....face it Payakaroon fans,Fenech was a WORLD CHAMPION and Samart was just a wanna champ be until he felt the sting of a real fighters fist.END OF STORY,OK!!!!!
I think that Fenech was a better Western Boxer than Payakaroon. If "A fighter is a fighter in any code...what ever code they fought, muay or boxing" then Fenech should've also tried to fight under Thai Boxing rules. Samart Payakaroon is not a wanna-be champ. Payakaroon was a Thai Boxing champion AND 2-time Western Boxing Champion. I don't think Fenech could ever pull that off and survive the 1st round under Muay Thai rules. Rules matter. Do you think any of these fighters will last in anMMAfight?
Yeah Reg your right,I was just trying to wind up a few Thai fans ha ha!!
Of course Fenech would have gotten his arse kicked Muay style.
Samart was a great figher in either code but by the time he fought Fenech his playboy lifestyle had caught up with him and he found it very hard to make the weight.
MMA Fenech would have been great I think because of his agression and fitness.Payakaroon's kicks would have helped him as well.
@auspunk79 what the fuck you are talkingabout mate samart was a great champion he was 5 times lumpinee champion do you even know what the fuck that means?
LOL! A muay thai great got beaten really bad in boxing now insecure muay thai fans are having fantasies about a muay thai fight between these two.. Get a life..
to khmoitstunna your a idiot my friend this was like 20 years ago so much has changed since then its a totally different era these 2 were the best pound for pound boxers by far. and your tryin to compare them with a fighter of todays standards
@KhmoitStunna buakaw wasnt even a lumpinee champion and samart was a super bantam weight how they could possibly fight?samart is considered a legend in thailand for muay thai samart was from the same cloth that muhammad ali was...
Samart would have crucified Dekker, he was a very useful falang Thai Boxer and fought so very good Thai guys , but never put in against the best, or against over the hill fighters. But samart was different class,
Samart had to pretend to lose because some corrupted high ranking official in his country (Thailand) threaten his family. They placed high bet on the other guy. Samart stoped boxing, but he returned to Muay Thai and held the champion title for a while before he retired.
I mean its obvious, look at how many consecutive dodges he did before he let his opponent barely touch his face and pretend to stay down after he falls. I feel bad for him. It is sad to see talented people, a legend, having to lose like this.
Most professional fighters respect each other no matter what countries other fighters come from. Only stupid noobs and online bitches that keep arguing about which races or material arts are better. How the hell can we learn or know about Muay Thai if Thai don't teach us? How the fuck can we learn Kung FU if Chinese don't teach us? We have too many fucking people. if you keep being an ass and never learn to respect people from other countries, our world will have more wars and it'll end faster.
i will say that i am patriotic in my comments but even your own historians and experts will agree with the superiority of chinese culture and civilization, "language, literature, philosophy, art, technology, and even cuisine" until the industrial revolution, and we are regaining that superiority very very quickly, the only thing that could have come close to the chinese civilization was that of rome but still in a battle your experts will agree that the romans would probably still lose
not to mention their brilliant culture and food, thais are very creative people in many aspects while americans are experts at pumping out saturated bullshit and promoting themselves as laughable clowns
I can not believe that the man who started his boxing career at 11 years of age and had held 4 title in Thai Boxing (105,108,115,126 pounds) was lazy.
Plus, it was only 5 months after he won Juan Meza.
dumb...kickboxing is not fenech's sport...if samart didn't want to box why did he.dumb to say fenech should try kickboxing, but fenech would have smothered him even in a kickboxing bout. samart would not get those kicks off on the inside.
Thai fighters are not the best at Thai boxing??? Are you joking... the Thais tool kickboxers from around the world. The best Thai boxers are from Thailand, either that was a typo on your part or you are mentally retarded.
If thats what you think then you dont know that much about Thai boxing. There are some great fighters from Holland but the Thais are the best. Youre the one who watches too many movies.
There was 1, dumbass! Ramon Dekker, its not called Muay holland faggot!! They used this art to fight wars, free people, and inspire a poor country, don't ever say it doesn't belong to the Thai people.
hey bro, your retarded! Walk into on coming traffic, the top 1000 greatest(except dekker, and some other whites who were raised in Thailand) Thai fighters are all THAI...
WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKIN ABOU?you are a littlebit confused my friend you cant compare samart samkor sakmongol anuwat dieselnoi with kaman and hoost you are a completely retard even if you walkin mejiro gym and make this statement everybody will laught with you you are a JOKE
That's the real worry with thai fighters. in all probability, Samart walked around at 160 and literally "BOILED" himself down to make weight. Scary shit. You can see he is as flat as a pancake here against Fenech.
he definitely doesnt look like he was fighting in his usual fashion. He isnt that stationary when he plays defensively. I don't think he would've thrown the fight, but there's a chance something was wearing on him. anybody know what his personal life was like around this fight time.
Samart said in his interview in thailand that...he took the medicine to get rid of his weight before the fight. he said that he hardly walk before the fight. any way he is great fighter. ... but we never know what is the true.
judging by the way he was fighting in this match, made it look like he was payed to loose. but meh... well see who has skills at an old age when they rematch.
But I can tell you one things for the thai fans who have seen Samart many times think the same thing that it was the fake defeat and still think Fenech can not compare to Samart.
what do u expect Thai boxer need money so throwing away one fight for a hard cash why not ... I dont think samart can make his own choice back then anyway
geez a lot of sad thais arguing shit on here, fact is Fenech was a three time world champ & a HOF boxer, it wasnt muay thai it was boxing so why even bring mt into it?
Puting a kickboxer in a ring against a boxer with boxing rules is like putting a soccer player in basketball game. My bet is that if it was a mma full contact match, Jeff Fenech would've gotten clinched.
it was a good and fair fight. the luck wasnt enough for samart in that day cos jeff fenich is a good n readily boxer . i was shocked for the result but more than anything is the sportmanship .
This has been flagged as spam show
His big punch did him no good when he fought Fenech did it ha ha!!
I still watch the Fenech vs Payakaroon fight and love the beating he handed the Thai playboy!!

anybody who thinks Payakaroon--a fighter i really liked and respected---intentionally threw this fight is delusional at best. First of all, you don't throw a fight by nearly getting killed......secondly, Payakaroon was never ever the same after this fight, his career was effectively over
danstearns 2 years ago 5
Not to take anything away from Fenech he is a great fighter
But Samart was on a holiday for this fight, he was hitting the pubs and women in Australia from the moment he got there. He made weight by taking diuretics.

I have seen the whoe fight and agree with markdo.
I think he did it at the very eary round to rised up the gambling rate.
then fenech down, it time to threw the fight.
moddaeng99 2 years ago
i just felt like he threw the fight...
itchykandar 2 years ago
it's funny how Samart is always moving around his opponents and attacking in an angle (both in muay tha and in western boxing) whereas in this match he chose to go toe to toe with Fenech.
Just a thought...
markdojfi2345 2 years ago
Markdo you must not have seen the whole fight........he tried moving and punching and he even scored a flash knock down in the first but then Fenech was on him like white on rice and Samart had to fight him in close because he was not strong enough to run anymore due to his battle to make the weight for this fight. That and Jeff was the best pressure fighter around back then.
auspunk79 2 years ago 2
zSamart didn't have descipline in weight control, so he ran out of gas.The first 3 rounds; IT"S A DIFFERENT STORY!!
( wonder why they didn't show it?!?!)
Anatda 2 years ago
@Anatda The reality is he couldn't knock Fenech out in the first 3 rounds so he knew he wasn't going to wear the Marrickville Mauler down he could've been the fittest man on the planet and he still would've lost .
fejkram 1 year ago
@fejkram fact is if Samart was not dehydrate and gas coz he took "DIURETIC" for loosing weight...he would not go with the inside fighting...exchange punches in close range like a BULL is not his style. He is more of a skillful tatic boxer. move in and out fast with heavy punches..Then again there is no exuse... he really loose this fight...lesson for good boxers..DISCIPLINE... is the Key to victory!!!
Anatda 1 year ago
was a real mistake u know especially fighter as strong as fenech alwais should keep working the jab also double jab never ever low distance , samart never change his style during entire carriere and that was a limit (he was a good fighter)
ekiezama 2 years ago
No jabs to prevent Feneh from inside coming and holding from Thai boxer. That is why he easily lost to Australian agrressor.
urs3339 2 years ago
What boxing? Just stand toe to toe and exchange punch?
I want to see more skill.
soodlorr 2 years ago
It's called inside fighting and there is a lot of skill involved in it.
auspunk79 2 years ago
soodlorr you must be new to boxing.
powpanda 2 years ago
Yes i'm new to boxing. Usually I just watch it from HBO.
Comparing inside fighting and distance fighting with lots of foot work, which take more skill?
Thank
soodlorr 2 years ago
Inside fighting may not look as fancy, but if it's so simple then why does Fenech dominate here? Every punch Payakaroon throws either gets blocked or dodged, while Fenech lands shot after shot.
It looks just like mindless waling away to someone new to the sport, but believe me there is a lot of technique here. Sure they wouldn't put this in a movie, but this is highly technical fighting.
This is mostly why I feel boxing is losing fans. People want fighting to look like Hollywood.
powpanda 2 years ago 19
Could it be that Samart use to muay thai not boxing ?
If I were him I wouldn't play Fenech game.
It's no use to fight your opponent with theirs own style.
soodlorr 2 years ago
Samart was world champion of boxing here defending his title.
powpanda 2 years ago
soodlorr you are not that smart. If you want to talk about skill in the manner that you have, then Mixed Martial Arts clearly requires more skill than Muay Thai fighting. Mixed Martial Arts encompasses all of Muay Thai and also have the ground aspect with take downs and submissions. soodlorr you are not so wise when you speak.
harbach 2 years ago
Hmm. "Not so wise not so smart"
Thank you Harbach for being so polite to me and not calling me stupid I don't have knowledge about Inside fighting and Powpanda explain it to me. Now I gain some knowledge. I didnt mean to be impolite. If my first post seem to be that way then I'm sorry.
soodlorr 2 years ago
@powpanda
He had his flaws for sure, check the Navarro fight, but in his prime he had the confidence and conditioning, and he did, and then some.
danstearns 1 year ago
@powpanda
His MT style was one of the most fluid, beautiful and dominating in history, like Ray Robinson quality, just that Samart was more a MT specialist than a boxer
redeyedol 1 year ago
@powpanda 100% agree. I think In-boxing is fantastic to watch
abeu 1 year ago
@powpanda so true man fenech in his prime was an unstopable force he knew exactly what he was doin
theytoookourjobs 8 months ago
Fenech was a far more agressive fighter than Samart period....A fighter is a fighter in any code and Jeff would have beaten the shit out of Payakaroon what ever code they fought, muay or boxing....face it Payakaroon fans,Fenech was a WORLD CHAMPION and Samart was just a wanna champ be until he felt the sting of a real fighters fist.END OF STORY,OK!!!!!
auspunk79 2 years ago
I think that Fenech was a better Western Boxer than Payakaroon. If "A fighter is a fighter in any code...what ever code they fought, muay or boxing" then Fenech should've also tried to fight under Thai Boxing rules. Samart Payakaroon is not a wanna-be champ. Payakaroon was a Thai Boxing champion AND 2-time Western Boxing Champion. I don't think Fenech could ever pull that off and survive the 1st round under Muay Thai rules. Rules matter. Do you think any of these fighters will last in anMMAfight?
RegWS6TA 2 years ago
Yeah Reg your right,I was just trying to wind up a few Thai fans ha ha!!
Of course Fenech would have gotten his arse kicked Muay style.
Samart was a great figher in either code but by the time he fought Fenech his playboy lifestyle had caught up with him and he found it very hard to make the weight.
MMA Fenech would have been great I think because of his agression and fitness.Payakaroon's kicks would have helped him as well.
We will never know.....
auspunk79 2 years ago 2
"We will never know..... "
Samart would have killed him in Muay Thai.

I said as far as MMA "we will never know"

How come Dekkers and Samart never fought ?
Would have been some fight !
KLguy133 2 years ago
Samart would have crucified Dekker, he was a very useful falang Thai Boxer and fought so very good Thai guys , but never put in against the best, or against over the hill fighters. But samart was different class,
pegasus87uk 2 years ago 2
samart is so much better than muangsurin in boxing
mrphilosophical 3 years ago
He stopped using his foot work after Fenech down.
Why??????
He began to feel exausted in two rounds ??????
.
moddaeng99 3 years ago
Samart had to pretend to lose because some corrupted high ranking official in his country (Thailand) threaten his family. They placed high bet on the other guy. Samart stoped boxing, but he returned to Muay Thai and held the champion title for a while before he retired.
hotcici9 2 years ago
who you know that?

Happy for fenech to win, but feel bad for samart to lose in this one because his real skills are in Muay Thai :)
dano450 3 years ago 2
@dano450 Samart was bored of Muay Thai fighting, no more challengers in that realm for him. I guess he saw more challengers in Boxing.

i will say that i am patriotic in my comments but even your own historians and experts will agree with the superiority of chinese culture and civilization, "language, literature, philosophy, art, technology, and even cuisine" until the industrial revolution, and we are regaining that superiority very very quickly, the only thing that could have come close to the chinese civilization was that of rome but still in a battle your experts will agree that the romans would probably still lose

After losing this match he started to come out with a new song. He sang like, "Lacking of a bit of training, so my baby has changed her mind".
PS he was a singer and an actor too.

I believe when Samart lost to one venezuela boxer. because it was 7 years after he lost to Jeff and he was not as good as he was in the past.
But for Jeff on that time, I don't belived.
moddaeng99 3 years ago
I can not believe that the man who started his boxing career at 11 years of age and had held 4 title in Thai Boxing (105,108,115,126 pounds) was lazy.
Plus, it was only 5 months after he won Juan Meza.
moddaeng99 3 years ago
I think Samart was not himself in this bout. But having said that I'm not sure even if at 100% he could have held off Jeff.
quickjab33 3 years ago
Wow..... why dont you let that Jeff Fenech try kick boxing he'll get own from Samart for sure
KICKSOMECHICK 3 years ago
dumb...kickboxing is not fenech's sport...if samart didn't want to box why did he.dumb to say fenech should try kickboxing, but fenech would have smothered him even in a kickboxing bout. samart would not get those kicks off on the inside.
fkudf 3 years ago
dude that is a stupid fucking comment. Getting on the inside with a Thai fighter means eating elbows or getting clinched and destroyed with knees.
Drewski1316 3 years ago
dude...thai fighters are not the best at thai boxing...look at there ko ratio, if they can't ko 14year old boys then Fenech's not going any where.
fkudf 3 years ago
Thai fighters are not the best at Thai boxing??? Are you joking... the Thais tool kickboxers from around the world. The best Thai boxers are from Thailand, either that was a typo on your part or you are mentally retarded.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
the best thai boxers are from holland...the netherlands. You watch too many Van Damm movies.

wow u r sooooo smart, what if jeff fought fedor or tried 2 fly a plane without knowing how- would u like that
gunpup 3 years ago
That's the real worry with thai fighters. in all probability, Samart walked around at 160 and literally "BOILED" himself down to make weight. Scary shit. You can see he is as flat as a pancake here against Fenech.
ianandori 3 years ago
he definitely doesnt look like he was fighting in his usual fashion. He isnt that stationary when he plays defensively. I don't think he would've thrown the fight, but there's a chance something was wearing on him. anybody know what his personal life was like around this fight time.
BoutyC 3 years ago
Samart said in his interview in thailand that...he took the medicine to get rid of his weight before the fight. he said that he hardly walk before the fight. any way he is great fighter. ... but we never know what is the true.
coz he also a playboy at that time.
picasoh 3 years ago
not throwing away one fight because he need money.
But for someone who gave birth to him as a boxer.
We will see, my friend.

what do u expect Thai boxer need money so throwing away one fight for a hard cash why not ... I dont think samart can make his own choice back then anyway

geez a lot of sad thais arguing shit on here, fact is Fenech was a three time world champ & a HOF boxer, it wasnt muay thai it was boxing so why even bring mt into it?
downo14 4 years ago
Puting a kickboxer in a ring against a boxer with boxing rules is like putting a soccer player in basketball game. My bet is that if it was a mma full contact match, Jeff Fenech would've gotten clinched.
j124life 4 years ago
Fenech would have eaten that shit up, he was a bull, a brawler, MMA would have been right up his alley with the right training
