(...) The 1st 'AVP' was the 1st train leading the 'AVP' franchise to Auschwitz.'AVP: R', the 2nd 'movie' (rather 'disgusting clip' or 'bad porn') way more disastrous & shameful (THX to 'Strause Brothers'), was its arrival to the concentration camp. It's not Cinema, it's prostitution & franchise genocide. BTW, are you maybe confused between Paul W.S. Anderson and Paul Thomas Anderson?... This last one's a good director, a real one.
Hello, man. A good director (°O)!?... No offense, but, objectively speaking, he's a movie maker and not a director (it's not the same). Do you know the true meanings of screenplay, script, writing (most of true directors write their films themselves), staging, pre-production & direction? Do you think budget is the only need for a film? Sorry, but scenario, script and, most of all, talent are required. (...)
No shit (^^). Lol, I would firmly say that it's him, the original one (flesh and blood version ^^), not the synthetic one. The original which was introduced in 1991/1992 Alien³ scenario.
Bishop-related screenplay speaking, this game seems to propose an overlap between the Alien³ film and and the two AvP 'films'... I'm curious to see and experience the final result in a very near future... in other words, in a few days...
Indeed, 'Aliens Vs. Predator' comic books are overall really interesting since 1989 ; )
Besides the fact, the production of comic books & games are not at all the same challenge, the same work than a film production, I'll just 'say' that 20th Century Fox & all producers, all 'writers' made some outrageous easy money without any ambition in 2004 & (mainly) 2007. A shame. I am tempted to use the term of 'prostitution'...
I'll add that all these people apparently forgot that a film needs to be written, needs a real casting and... most of all a real director.
About the 1st Rebellion PC 'AvP', unlike the second signed by Monolith Software, he quickly got old but, yes, sure, it was a great & memorable gaming experience, I agree (^°). Now, this 3rd Rebellion AvP experience seems to be mature. Personally, (gaming speaking) I'm mostly waiting for 'Aliens: Colonial Marines'...
... and (film speaking), although I remain more or less suspicious, I'm curious about Ridley (& Tony - coproducer -) Scott's 'Alien' 2011 prequel and Nimród Antal's 'Predator' (& Robert Rodriguez - producer -) 2010 prequel ('Predators' announced for next July - already in its post-production phase, that means a teaser should be available in a near future -)...
Anyway, thanks for your comment and tube you soon : )
@FuryI6I, you are spot on about those terrible AvP movies, the comic-books were seriously awesome. How the hell did they screw up an AvP film?
I remember playing the original AvP PC demo for the first time at the San Diego Comic-Con back in '99 and it totally blew me away. I just pre-ordered the 2010 version on Steam and I can't wait. The demo comes out tomorrow.
I'm temted to use the same terms as you but this is not so simple... I'll just 'say' that a comic book reading/perusal is not the same as a film reading/perusal.
Anyway, at the beginning, a film production needs good writers and, as I wrote above, a real director... Paul W.S. Anderson and the Strause brothers (OMG) are clearly not.
DrakenGuardz | Thanks for your comment. Indeed, Rebellion, after a long gestation, seems to propose a 3rd & mature AvP FPS gaming experience... For the posting & sharing, don't mention it (^°)! Glad you enjoy!
paul anderson is a good director. but if fox want quick buck from a budget as tight as a virgin?!- then what do u expect? yup. thought so

Seriously, all they had to do was take the comic book and turn it into film, instead they reworked it into stupidity.
