@Rimdeker I personally prefer medium nibs because I find that fine ones feel too scratchy, and leave the paper too white. I've never heard that "elegant" pens should have fine nibs. If you truly want an elegant pen, you should get one that has a lot of flex and allows you to write with some expression.
@Rimdeker If a retailer says that you can't use black ink, then you shouldn't trust them. They don't know what they're doing.
There are literally hundreds of fountain pen inks available. You should try Noodler's black. It tends to creep out on your nib, but otherwise it writes well, doesn't clog or anything, and is permanent.
You can also go to fountainpennetwork . com. They've got pretty much all the information that you'd ever want on fountain pens.
I'm sorry to say this but even if its just a video for fun and such, your handwriting is actually pretty poor. you should not have bought a mont blanc.
nice cursive wayyyyyyyyyyy better than mine and have you ever bought the classic pen set with the fountain pen inside im thinking of buying the set while i save up money for a montblanc

It's really fancy, mate. My friends are going to try to steal my pen tho -.- 5 star vid :DDDDDDDDDD
Traditional Montblanc Black ink is iron gall ink which is slightly acidic (it does contain a particular type of acid). It is no problem with an 18 or 14 karat gold nib because they will not corrode but Iron gall ink will destroy a stainless steel nib over time. Unless they make Hemispheres with solid gold nibs nowadays (I have one in stainless steel) which I highly doubt, I would suggest a safe ink like parker and waterman's ink. They will not stain your pen.
@SizeableThoughts: Montblanc bottled Blue-Black (Midnight Blue?) is an iron gall ink, not Black. Today's iron gall ink is not as acidic as iron gall ink of the past. A modern pen filled with modern iron gall ink will last many years, but you may need to clean the nib and feed a little more frequently.
@hilobay911 Yea, I think black ink should be fine, its the red ink that stains. I have a pelikan m400 white tortoise so I have to be super cautious with inks since its a white bodied pen.

Thank you for comment.
Hmm.. I don't think so. I think you will have no trouble if you clean the pen before you change the ink and every three months.
Most of major pen makers says that you need to use their ink, and using other maker's voids their warranty.
I heard that some classical type inks like Montblanc blue black tends to clog, and Waterman blue is one of the safest.
So to make sure, use Waterman black for your Waterman pen. Don't use 'bokuju', ok?
