  • Everything is awesome, except the led headlights.

  • The R1's and R6's have the meanest look out there.

  • Comment removed

  • Not buying it.

  • Yamaha is the best!

  • well your eyes must like looking at last place, sorry man that was too easy

  • My brain and my eyes were an epic battle, my brain wanted a 2012 r1 but my eyes wanted a 2012 zx10r. then i watched the rest of the video and my eyes won, THAT THING IS UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @suzeris - where's your proof? the R1 has dominated at racing events, and despite the Italians bikes dominating WSK the R1 is the only Japanese Bike to challenge them, Suzuki, Kawasaki, BMW and Honda are in the back row! If only the Honda would use their RC212V everywhere then thats the only way to rule supreme. Or until the M1 gets the top end power it needs then the Honda is screwed in MotoGP as well.

  • AAHHHhhhhhh! ok I'm done jerking off! She will be mine oh yes...she will be mine!

I'm trading my old R1 for that one as soon as it comes out!

  • New Yamaha R1 . SuperBike ! Cool

  • I'll stick with my 08 R1.

Far better looking than this offering.

  • @duckgeezer just ride one, my service maniger rode my 09 and he trade in his 08. he put the Graves shorty on it. do that and take the pegs passenger pegs off it is nice looking.

  • im a die hard R1 fan but i still say they need to change that front end...the look of this thing just rubs me the wrong way. I remember when I first saw a raven it was like losing my virginity "life changing" . This one does not have same effect, to say the least. Its wider and heavier. Never could understand the logic behind fixing whats not broke

  • HONDA THE BEST. CBR 1000RR 2012 AND NO GOOD R1 THAN CBR.

  • The best

  • why do americans speak like such retards honestly

  • Should be interesting how the 2012 R1 turns out to be. My guess it will be really good on the street since Yamaha is not stuck to racing homologation rules anymore(2011 was their last year in WSBK). It will probably beat out the rest of the liter bike competition in that aspect. As a track bike... not so sure we will see.

  • I will be buying one in Black.

  • Want to ride it so badly!!!

  • In 1998 I was highly impressed with new R1.Next year I bought R1.In 2004 when newer R1 showed up I was impressed again, and in 2005 I bought R1 again.

... This time I 'skip' current generation. Yes - I'll wait till 2013 for more radical model.

  • Hey dude100, haha yeah you go to ducati, just like Valentino did.I mean he's well happy with that red piece of shite. Myself ... I'm sticking with blue.. Good luck ;)

  • Im still waiting for an overhaul of its appearance to update from my 06 R1 to a crossplane ,wasnt impressed with 09 to 11 ,yeh great engine and the other various mech upgrades and all that but i want looks.Looks like Yamaha havnt done much AGAIN.Oh well Ducati or Aprilia could be gettin my hard earned i think. And how about its weight.??????????Come on guys.

  • @motorcycledude1000 The R6 will never get a cross-plane engine. Not enough torque to warrant the design and drawbacks of having to balance the crank.

  • @michaelthepsycho You must have misunderstood "06" as R6... I have a 2006 R1

  • The entire bike is flexing at 0:47. I think they need to work on that chassis/suspension setup a bit.

  • Nice bike, I just hate the headlights. They are ugly

  • Looking forward to the 2012 1000cc shoot out already lol. They talked bad about the 2011 R1 and named the rsv4 bike of year cause of the electronics. Which was lame to me cause they knew that zx was better than it. They kept crying about a quick shifter and it was something else on that RSV4 that the ZX-10r and the S1000rr didn't have.

  • I love my 09 R1, but are disappointed that the R1 will not come with bigger upgrade next year. The 2013 R1 edition will be a bestseller if it comes with a CrossPlane 200 HP, 169 KG dry :-)), race ABS, Traction etc. I will keep my bike next year. And ofcourse the most importend in taming this beasts (supersportbikes) is the Rider. Cheek out my video if you want to see how the 09 R1 does it on the Nurburgring !! 2wheels4life !!

  • cost??

  • Just the best!

  • loserbike....206kg, 182ps, no abs, heavy fat ass exhaust, no evolution, its only a lame warm up....shame on you yamaha....after bmw s1000rr, kawasaki ninja zx-10r and aprilia rsv4....thats all you can? pah

  • safer and will make the average mortal bike rider better !!

  • parece que honda va a vender un par de motos el año que viene....

  • Sick bike, I like the limited edition red/white/black, looks so sick.

  • The new 2012 R1!!! The only liter bike that has no other sound like any other machine on the road! It has a awesome sounding 50cc scooter engine that is supposed to fool your foes!

  • Engine does sound smaller than it really is.

  • ¡The new touch in the front lights looks great!

  • @46Mongoose: I'm in Ontario.

  • @ShamanWS6 Yes I know you are in Ontario, I was being sarcastic to your statement "We have a few of them here in town to play with and the newer R1s just don't have the power to hang." My point being Josh Hayes just won 2 AMA superbike championships with newer R1s, seems at the pro level others did not have the power to hang. However this particular bike is the heart and soul of Jeremy Burgess and Valentino Rossi available on the street.

  • @46Mongoose : If you think that the AMA or WSB bikes are even remotely like the street bikes, then you have never ridden a real race bike. I have an ex-Pro GSX-R and it took me most of a year just to learn how to make it work (and now I can't ride my near-stock trackbike worth a damn).

  • @ShamanWS6 Homologation under AMA rules, yes track bikes are set up a bit different might find a reverse pattern and a turn in rate like a thought process. Most of the street bikes each year are a fraction of second each way in the liter shootout, 1/4 mile and top end wise. I think for the average kneedragger this R1 is going to offer a leg up on the competition.

  • @46Mongoose : A bit different? Swingarm length & position, triple clamp positions (particularly angle), wheels, brakes, shocks, forks, engine internals, weight shaving, subframe placement, engine management, shock linkage can be changed in AMA. The weight distribution of the bike and rider, the power characteristics of the engine, the geometry of the bike and the materials used for many of the parts are completely different than the stock bike. They are not even remotely alike to ride. FFS.

  • @ShamanWS6 Thats why I put the Homologatation ( the rules of what can and can not be changed under AMA). You seem to have missed my point - EVERY YEAR IN THE LITER CLASS ALL THE BIKES ARE A FRACTION OF A SECOND OFF EACH OTHER 1/4 MILE TOP END, THIS STREET BIKE WILL GIVE A LEG UP FOR THE AVERAGE RIDER- THAT WOULD BE ON THE STREET. now go read AMA rules before posting again

  • @46Mongoose : OK, so forget AMA. They're nothing like the real bikes. Admit it. Second, yes I think traction control could have its uses on the street but more importantly the track - if it's done right. I have TCS on my EMPro computer and it's definitely worth having. For the street rider it's probably 95% useless but that 5% might be a life saver. Regardless it doesn't matter - the current R1 isn't even in the running against its rivals. Fraction of a second my ass... it's way off.

  • @46Mongoose -Oh please,"However this particular bike is the heart and soul of Jeremy Burgess and Valentino Rossi available on the street" then where is their heart & soul in 2011,Jeremy Burgess and Valentino Rossi didn't design d crossplane crank, nor d delta box chassis,2 put it in perspective ,they didn't even pass their 7th grade. However this particular bike is the heart and soul of 100s of engineers, technicians & mechanics and Masao Furusawa available on the street.

  • @MrNithinchandran I don't disagree that this is the heart and soul of 100s of engineers, technicians & mechanics and Masao Furusawa available on the street. Also think Ducati will have a bike with a frame next year from the 2 morons input, Ducati will be a much better bike. Yamaha has made great bikes before the stooges and will continue to do so. For people that have not graduated the 7th grade they are doing spectacular for them selves. Rossi -Burgess possibly best team in history.

  • @46Mongoose -The current gp 11.1 is a totally new bike developed around 46-burgess input-destroked 1000cc engine, chassis, swing arm, etc, A privilege 27 has been craving for years & what happened ?"Rossi -Burgess possibly best team in history"is a myth.As 4 2012,read 46 interview after aragon GP"Am worried about d future"& "I am a racer, not an engineer ".Recent mugello 1000cc test times-46 is already 8 1/10 sec slower than 27 laptime on 800 honda on 2012 tyres at d test after race.

  • Sounds like a 50cc on this vid...

  • Esta chingona la Moto wey.

  • Deeeeeyam!

    *Looks at his GSXR 600...*

    :(

  • Love this bike...after a little personal touch of course ;)

  • They'd better have done better than just a bit of low end power and traction control. We have a few of them here in town to play with and the newer R1s just don't have the power to hang. I have been told there are all sorts of upgrades that can make them work a lot better, but Yamaha shouldn't make its customers spend thousands just to get within spitting distance of everything else on the market.

  • @ShamanWS6 What town are you in?

  • On my second R1 and no regrets, RN22 :) Music to my ears

  • FIRST!! and what a Bad-ass Bike!!!!!!

  • "Don't try this at home"
