NOvA Pivoter: Milestone for assembling a 15,000-ton neutrino detector

The data acquisition system can make the time-of-flight measurement from Fermilab to Ash River but our clocks are probably not accurate enough to comment on the recent results. We have made a request for enough money to upgrade the clocks but we will see how that goes. To the photo emulsion detector question, the plastic slabs are full of mineral oil with a scintillating chemical mixed in. Particles cause the chemical to emit light that is captured by photo-detectors on the edges.

@angMohit hello again, well i asked my friend [he's a PhD in physics who's worked at FERMI in the past] and he says yes to your question, here's his answer: "It should be able to double check that

neutrino result. As it's gotten a bunch of publicity I'd be very surprised if they didn't. Still, it will be a while before it's up and running."
