  • This video is about 70% true when it comes to stereotypes. Its true that some swedes believe they are "superior" but far from everybody is like that, especially people from the older generations. The truth is that lots of people actually think foreign people are pretty interesting but they are sometimes to "scared" to express these feelings. Of all the the nordic countries denmark and norway are the most open, sweden is less open and finland is the least open.

  • @stunnerrocker Sorry autocorrect screws with me. But the reason so many muslims are here is because we have socialist politicians. And since muslims also tend to be a bit socialist our politicians agree to take them in so they Will vote for them. But no its not as bad as it sounds. Sweden is a nice country.

  • @stunnerrocker First of all it seems like you have heard right things but a bit off the scale. Muslims are very nice people in most cases. But the honungen generations seem a bit criminal. Not more than the swedes

  • ja de ska ju inte va livat så länge det inte är alkohol i bilden.

  • Good Svenglish... dum asses.

  • can you tel me please the name of the music you use for this documentary? thank you

  • @patato04 RJD2 - Ghostwriter

  • This is kind of a strange video. It seems to me that people are people. Shy or not. It doesn't matter to me. Everyone is different... yet alike at the same time. Most people I meet are nice.

  • 1:46 so that's where Eidur Gudjohnsen is living now

  • Serious, generally attractive, atheist, much secular education, polite but cold, that is the general perception of Swedes but after traveling I find stereo types kind of funny, people are just people.

  • Most Swedes they are interviewing are not typical Swedes. I would say the couple with the blonde girl and brown-haired guy is the typical Swedes.

  • WE ARE VERY.. LAGOM..

  • to make a swed social just give him a fucking beer or maybe 10 if needed :)

  • @graffitidave88 i like the way you think now where are MY 10 BEERS!!1 >:/

  • the guy in the yellow sweater sound like they pulled him straight out of skyrim

  • Swedes are totally F&*$% in the head....they're like robots. I can't say they have NO sense of humor, but it's a messed up robotic, dry, no laughing sense of humor. Swedes probably laugh less than Afghans do, and Afghans are getting their houses bombed every day. Been living in this godforsaken shit country for 2 years now...soooooo dreadful....with their crap bureaucracy and communist (socialist same thing) government! Shoot yourselves, and leave your country for me to run.

  • @Stickeroo or it's just you with the BAD sense of humour :)

  • @Stickeroo No thanks, Im fine with a government that cares for us.

I can tell a joke! Why did the frog cross the road? To get to the other side. (this is me smiling to the joke) =I

  • @Stickeroo How do you know? Im from Sweden , and I´m NOT a robot. Don´t speak bad about swedes if you didn´t get to learn us. We´re really nice !

  • @Tazzymina Come on, you even write like a robot. And I got to "learn" you very well....although if you're cute I'm willing to "learn" you better. Wanna go "take a beer"? Lol!

  • "Sweeds communicate in a different way. They are not expressing their feelings as much as international students" and the camera pans over a group of people standing with their arms crossed :P

  • Swedish, Polish, american...... All stereotypes are not correct. We all share the same nature and we All are capable of love & hate etc.

  • If one of them burst out with a "fus ro da" at the end I would have laughed out loud

  • 1:42

  • @notforchurch Idiot.

  • this me make sad :(

  • Deras engelska är ju sämst.. xD

  • Är det svenskar som var med på intervjuerna?? hälften av dom är ju värdelösa på engelska! :O

  • the old steriotype was/is the gentel giant. tal, but gentel and almost a little naive, but hard working.

  • av alla ställen väljer dom folk i jönköping liksom. bonnhåla nr 1

  • @harboee Universitetsstad. Men visst är det en jävla håla ;)

  • @harboee 08 detected.

Fort!

  • all these years ive been studying about swedes because ima swede myself.

but i am located in america, alot of people say swedes are very shy and quiet. im swedish and i am the last thing you'd call shy, i just mean mug people alot. but im actually a nice guy.

  • @ludaticDBM Är du från Sverige? Are you from sweden?

if you grew up in the U.S., you have Swedish genes but an American sense of Swedes are actually quite quiet and very shy, people hardly dare to ask what time it is at the bus stop so we are pretty socially cowardly ...

But when we are among our friends and family, it is quite another thing, then we can let loose and become almost a bit embarrassing, like in this video / watch? V = 8I5BGsK5ZAU but it's of course exaggerated ...

  • @mooden94 but it all depends on what kind of person you are :) im not afraid to ask someone something in the bus stop or anything like that but i think overall swedes are quite shy but very kind :)

  • @xXnXnXnXx Tag dig sammen.

  • @xXnXnXnXx You're wrong!

We love our danish and norweigan brothers and sisters! We should join forces.

  • @tykz0r ah well, but we dont like you very much, so you can stop loving us.

  • @tykz0r Jag tycker att samtliga nordiska länder borde gå ihop och bli nordiska unionen.

  • @jeffhardyisepic That's what I'm saying. :)

  • @jeffhardyisepic med island som ledare

  • @TITOR002 -_- nu hoppas jag du skämtar...

  • the moden swede isn't shy or closed. swedes nowdays are trying to be as american as possible

  • Comment removed

  • @1bol1 You're wrong. I try to be as un-american as I can. General guideline to live a good life imo.

  • @TITOR002 then you're an exception, just like me. Or you're just a poser. Och varför skiver jag på engelska när du är svensk.

  • @1bol1 And like the rest of us. I know no one who looks up to USA.

  • 3 swedish friends? must be because jönköping is a smaller university in a small town. lund university is famous for having tons of strong student organisations and a rich student night life, and here i see no wall between those international students that want to socialize and the swedish students like myself. it was the same in england when i studied there, it's not a swedish thing.

  • @Kenko87 Swedish men being neutered by swedish women has nothing to do with being racist, it is just an observation... sweden sounds like a prison to me... for freedom and liberty loving american...

  • @PunjabiSikhRajput1 'Sweden sounds like a prison'. If so, it's a rather unusual prison considering it has freedom of speech and anyone who lives there is free to leave at any point. Surprisingly though, an additional one hundred thousand people voluntarily come to live there each year, most of them men. :-) PS. I'm not neutered, so whether what you said was a racist remark or just an observation, it is already proven incorrect. Have a great day, dost.

  • @meadish You pay 57.77% of your income in taxes that is just on your income!!! Think about sales tax, property tax, gas tax, etc, its over 75%, that is slavery whither you know it or not. You can vote yourself into slavery in any democracy, that is why america is a republic. in sweden majority rules and takes the rights of the minorities. You might not starve in sweden, but you certainly won`t become rich unless you lobby government to subsidize your business. This is just refined slavery

You might not starve in sweden, but you certainly won`t become rich, sweden will attract 3rd world populations but it will not attract the business class.

  • @PunjabiSikhRajput1 All Swedes are free to migrate at any time, and we are not unaware of our tax system like you seem to assume. You are right that business people are more likely to migrate to lower tax countries, but how about we look at what you get back for your tax money, too? Ask yourself, just how rich do you need to become, and at the expense of whom (to amass large amounts of capital you inevitably need to feed off the work of others)?

  • Just saw your initial rant. I would not have responded to you at all if I had seen that. I have a good Punjabi friend who is a great guy, nice sense of humour and grown up enough to have interesting discussions without swearing and venting racist prejudice like you did. I suspect your parents tried to teach you manners, but so far they appear to have failed. Maybe you should consider why. Good luck with getting rich.

  • @meadish Thanks Im getting there, working for oil companies is very lucrative, you can't answer my previous statements because you know I am right. Sweden now has the lowest marriage rate, the highest non-marital cohabitation rate, low birthrates, and possibly the highest family dissolution rate in the world. No country in history has become great without its people having a strong belief in the family unit, the basic building block of any society. Sweden is going to fall, demographics prove it

  • @PunjabiSikhRajput1 As a swede myself, I can just say you are sooo ignorant. You literally have no idea. What those statistics show doesn't mean we are unhappy. In fact Sweden is on the top 10 happiest people in the world. Sure, not everyone has it perfect, not at all. But we are still far better than many other countries. It's not perfect, but we are still okay with it. (Although some politicians here are below stupid)

  • so what this female teacher wants to convey is, that i should go out to swedish ppl and beg them to talk to me and become ma friends,, LOL, why don't you suck ma dick, bitch..

  • And then these myths about Sweden "always being cold" - that's not true.

In fact Swedish summers (June-August, normally) are often really warm, and can sometimes reach up to 30-35°C.

We do have cold winters --- during the winter season, around November-February --- but throughout the year the springs are around +10°C, summers +25°C, autumns around +5°C and the winters usually around -15°C.

  • Let's not now get too absorbed by these "stereotype signs".

I'm from Sweden myself and there seem to be popular rumours about Swedes almost always being blonde and tall and shy etc, but there is in fact a lot of variety - I think that when it comes to hair colour, dark-blonde and brown are probably the most common colours in Sweden; Swedish girls are actually fairly social quite often (guys tend to be fairly close, though).

  • there's too much stereotyping in sweden, if a person is different, it will be all alone, but most of us give in th peer pressure... thats how idiots, blondes, racists are born.

  • i dont see why every1 calls swedish ppl socialists.. i mean its pretty obvious were all racist and trying to go in nazi germans footsteps,.... SIIGHH

  • Yeah. We're all cold, alcoholic socialist bastards.

Seriously though, as swede I would describe us as a very respectful, hard working and calm people. And no, in general swedes may not open up to people they just met, but is that really weird? In my opinion, opening up to someone you barely know is just plain pathetic. I personally much rather build up a friendship progressively. This also makes the friendship stronger and more real in my opinion.

  • why the hell are they asking a bunch of students, students dont know what life is if it hit them in the face

  • Superior beings are not social. They don't need others to have a good existence. Scandinavia is not there yet but of all places (except Japan) comes closest to a collection of individuals instead of a pathetic interdependent society of weak creatures who can't even imagine being alone for more than 2 weeks

  • swedish men are straight cowards and pussy's, they are not real men... bunch of pussy whipped bitches who are scared to talk, they have little to no self confidence... there is little to no culture in sweden...

  • @PunjabiSikhRajput1 Go fuck a goat

  • @TheCarnage92 Swedes should eliminate all those dirty bastards from SWE like as PunjabiSikhRajput1

    14

  • @DreamCatcher025 Yes we should skin them like the fking animals they are..

  • @TheCarnage92 You have full support from your White Slavic brothers

    Sweden For Swedes!

    Europe For Europeans!

    14

  • @PunjabiSikhRajput1 got beat up on a trip to sweden? hahahaha

  • the only time the swedes are open and social is when they are drunk

  • @pavel968 Not really, Swedes are simply *less social* than many other countries, but it's still pretty easy to spot someone who instantly comes off as very social and outgoing, especially among girls.

Watch "Show Me Love" for instance (aka "Fucking Åmål"), it's a fairly realistic depiction of many different types of Swedish youths.

  • @pavel968 haha thats actually true. I can tell im a swede

  • In Sweden there is no freedom of speech. It is not a "true" democracy at all. It is run by feminsts and socialists. Everyone must "tow the line". Nobody can "stand out". Nobody is allowed to "upset" anybody. The "reward" for doing as you are told is to receive an income support pension for your whole life. You don't need to work. You can drink alcohol & have sex all day and hard working people PAY for you with high taxes. But there is a "hidden price" to this "lifestyle" which = NO FREE SPEECH.

  • @Stealthkeys77 False.

  • Comment removed

  • I think it's strange that people believe that we need to drink to open up. I mean, I'm Swedish, I am a bit shy and I don't open up easily. But I don't drink either, so I guess that means I'm doomed. Lol

  • @lollopisemis aaaw, that is so cute. (sorry, but i really think so) I don't think you're doomed at all haha :')

  • i got told i looked swedish in the summer, just because im blonde and had a tan.

  • @MrSuperbizzle Swedes have all kinds of looks, maybe a little blonder than average but there's not exactly a typical "Swedish look". ;P

I know several social persons with black natural-colored hair and a tan who are 100% Swedish. 8-)

  • I understand this video is based on stereotypes on Swedish people, but it's extremely one sided, almost making the Swedes seem like victims to these stereotypes then confirming it with the 2-3 people that would agree. I did live there for 2 years, I'm very social and I did reach out. It WAS hard to meet Swedish friends. Alcohol did loosen some people up. In Södertälje there is a lot of racial tension and was scaring for me during election time.

  • We swedes drink and party. We are cold as ice without beer ;)

  • cool

  • If Swedes are really like that then I would 'fit in'. I'm practically a loner and I'm only emotional w/ close friends.

  • @AishaValoria As a swede I'm sad to hear that. Of course any country will have such people, but I hope you can realise that she doesn't represent us in any way. People like her is a minority here, and I think she is especially rude because she is enjoys the privilege of living in your country yet can only brag about how she thinks sweden is better? I would say that she should move back home here, but I am not sure we want her.

  • Comment removed

  • HAHAH oh.

We are cold, shy and not really that "open" about stuff?

Yea, The "fjortisar" and brats, perhaps...

  • @solidjesse I'm almost exactly in the same situation except I'm Indian rather than Mexican. I would love to learn Swedish and take a vacation there.

  • it's very easy to become depressed and lonely here in sweden.. im swedish

  • @12345678909269 Please, dont go to school and shoot eveyrrone

  • @jonatand87

guns are illegal in sweden... ;P

  • @jippijoe Unless you get a license..

  • @PondscumArgonian

    no... ILLEGAL.

  • @jippijoe Nope. It's possible to own several firearms legally.

  • @PondscumArgonian i give up...

  • @jippijoe Good.

  • haha I live there.

  • I dont know much of my swedish history but for the most part i look like a "typical" swedish and my dad has not told me much of my history. Infact i dont know if i am swedish. I was just told that... i am mexican though... but my swedish side overpowers it greatly

  • Sweden would be great if it was Swedish.

  • I dont know yea i dont know, realy. wtf is this video? Every country has some issues.

  • gött att dom bara frågar överklassen o blattarna haha

  • HELL YEAAAH JÖNKÖPING !!!!

  • Krillebooi is the swedish steriotype.

  • 3:02 Damn, that is one fine pair of tits. I'm surprised no one commented on them before

  • pour un français, la Suède c'est les filles !

  • =o you know whats fucked up i was born and raised in america an i am similar to them lol i only talk allot if im gettin fucked up with friends but i like to keep to myself ussually

  • Lol,really LONG guys haha. But seriously, studies have shown that an average swede is better looking than an average american. But not ALL of them are the tall, blonde and have deep blue eyes,OMG swedish people are gorgeous!!

  • They talk about the svensson. Go to Malmö (a city in south Sweden) and talk to the people there instead of stockholm (the capital). Here the people are more open and chilled out. In Malmö we hate stockholmare. And everybody puffs

  • hah, we are very "lagom" xP

  • @jokuukko1 "lagom" is one word that only sweden have, I mean that it can't be translated into another language, you have to re-think the whole sentence to make a good translation. :P

  • When you make fun of someone it is not fun for the person you make fun of and if the person you make fun of made fun of you it wouldnt be so fun for you ,hah?

  • yeah good guys long blond its tall u idiot desporate idiot. you just look in AWW and did any of these tall guys had a sense of humor? No since you met no one of these closed guys and second dont be a hollywood minded racist

  • partysvensker GO HOME!

  • swedes have that Jante Law too :\

  • Well the reason there is stereotypes is maybe that... there's a part of truth! Of course you can't generalize, but tell me when do you come accross a swedish dude dancing like crazy on a dancefloor, tryin to pick up, crying about his ex-girlfriend and being rude to everyone? Never! Worst! Have you ever met a swede drinkin a glass of wine for lunch? OH MY GOD NO! it's forbidden! Not like getting smashed on a saturday night!

  • Love RJD2, nice soundtrack.

  • How is it a problem if they dont need?

  • its just cause we think our english is bad.. we dont like to talk much..

i dont have reall friends either and i know people that i have meet in school for 10 years every day.. talking and stuff still... :d

  • its just cause we think our english is bad.. we dont like to talk much..

  • @TbTheHunter även om det är i svenska ! Du alla behöver LOTS AND LOTS of sense of humor. Du kan hitta en man eller kvinna som är 70 år and fortfarande cultutral illitrate, Who does not know how to react if she met some one who looks differnt but stare at them like they are some new creatures.

  • Good video!

Learning to know a swede migth take 1-2 month but when you are friends you will find us to be just as open as evryone else. Often we don't show what we feel by talking, it is something that we just feals. In Sweden there are no need for express fealing in worlds since we often comuticate our fealings on other ways.. it is hard to explain..

  • swedes are very fond of there freinds. they do have a few freinds a chooses freinds with great care. In sweden you also have freinds and you have comrades. you would chop your arm of for your freinds and you would die for your comrades. and also the word love is very strong word in sweden. its reserved for partners and comrades.

  • All i have to say is when Swedes come over to the US.. they are very friendly and Open and want to meet people and places... even make friends... and the asshole on 4:00 will get punched if i ever see him walking around sweden.

So far I have not been disapointed with this country and Its culture and i wish to continue to learn about them. And Yes they are some what cold and DIFFICULT to make friend with them but I am like them in a way so its all good. I am american by the way.

  • @guardfish123 RESPECT!

  • @rctsos

When did you meet a swede?

  • @rctsos japanese and swedes r nothing alike. no offence to swedish people but i experianced them as being quite rude from my cultural perspective, so saying that japanese and swedes r alike in terms of politeness cant be any further from the truth. another thing that r like opposites is how swedes tend to "get to the point", that is something u can only dream of finding in japan, that does not exist here...

  • @yasashii89 the latter is true, but we swedes are polite to people we dont know. when your with your comrades it dosent matter. i do think that we respect other cultures too. our culture is more complicated then most people think. as when a swede suddenly stops in the middle of a sentence and you fill in the gap thats VERY rude in sweden. whe need time when we say something

  • @kakamorak interrupting people is universaly rude. its not just me, many expacts when they first arrived in sweden found the swedes to be a bit cold, of course u will find exceptions but it is very typical. swedes r generally not as friendly as in england for example (london is an exception), if u r at a bus stop in england, strangers may start chatting to u a bit, that is nothing u ever get in sweden. also, people would call me by my christian name, even in formal letters, which i found rude.

  • we are cold but polite. and i do agree upon that japan and sweden is not very much alike. then the HUGE cultural gap between japan and sweden makes for a grand cultural clash sometimes. remember that our culture comes from the vikings, and they were not realy renownend for bieng polite in theyr every day life. but since the vikings were also traders and discoverers, we got very respectfull of other culture. and i do think that if your start an conversition with a swede they will try to be as

  • @kakamorak they make u swedes sound sooo boring im not from sweden nor do i live their i love ur country but why can't u be like americans more open and shit, don't act like a shy teen , act awesome if i ever go over their i will try to talk to everyone and fool around lol but just for fun , but why do u guys act so shy and so closeted

  • @greenman1694 in sweden, we live a great life, but lets say 15000 to 70 years ago, we always had it rough. if you dident get some fat on your bones (got fat) we would kill you so that you dont have to freeze to death in the winter. so we have a rough and closed culture

  • @yasashii89 we are cold and polite. our culture comes from the vikings, and they wher not really renowned as to be polite. but as vikings were merchants and discoverers we also learned to respect other culteres. but i do agree that our cultures are not very alike. and if you start an conversation with an stranger swede he/she will try to be as polite as she/he can and wont just ignore you. most swedes have 2 persons in them. on for work and one for privatlife. only a few gets to know privatperso

  • @yasashii89 we are cold and polite. our culture comes from the vikings, and they wher not really renowned as to be polite. but as vikings were merchants and discoverers we also learned to respect other culteres. but i do agree that our cultures are not very alike. and if you start an conversation with an stranger swede he/she will try to be as polite as she/he can and wont just ignore you. most swedes have 2 persons in them. on for work and one for privatlife. only a few gets to know privat

  • @rctsos What? I think we are the opposite. I lived in japan.

  • @joneyer i could not agree with u more =P

  • Shy??? Scince when?

  • Sweden is a backwards country. We swedes are a pretty fucked up group of people.

  • @Tidermans Funny how the one person who attempts to represent Swedes in a less than perfect way, is not ethnically Swedish himself.

  • "when they drink people really opens" hahahaha thats true sweden is a sick alcoholic abuse , i know i live here.. but the people they interview is some retarded ass studens, seriosly? they are not allowed to represent sweden they are idiots!!

  • @blubb0 I dont understand what u are saying.

  • @slurre95 The closed off thing, doesn't apply so much to swedish people, but if you're a foreigner moving to sweden, everyone, for the most part, is very closed, and you always feel on the outside for a while

  • @kinpower I would say they were on the money. Try going abroad and you will see its not the same. You do talk without expressing feelings, the Finns too. I first thought you people just did not give a damn about whatever you were doing, but I learned that you don't show much feeling. U cant really c it yourselves.

  • ..so trye!

  • No one would guess that I'm swedish. I have dark brown hair and green eyes xD. My whole Swedish Family has had brown hair. I don't know anyone on my swedish side that doesn't have brown hair.

  • I don't get why some see us as naive, I know a fair deal of naive people but there in every corner in the world. I myself mostly are overly sceptic. Look and actually be should be seperated.

Älso some people are discussing that the swedish "culture" is dying either because arabs or americans, as far as i'm concerned the swedish culture died a long time ago.

  • Yeah definitely true. I have fam there. You just have to understand them.

  • Swarthy arab cultures are invading Europe at the moment.

Soon the whole continent will be re-named "Eurabia".

At the forefront of this dramatic cultural change is Sweden,

who are openly serving their blonde nordic women on a

"open platter" for sleazy arab men to rape and devour.

Its absolutely disgusting. As much as I blame the arabs I

also blame the Swedish people themselves who are too

naive and too open to "undesirable" baboon cultures !!

  • @phileustace Human civilization is undesirable, Humans are undesirable, kill em all!

  • @Glimme92 Emo mush?:(

  • woop woop you should've gone to Skåne (the southern part of sweden)!!! We are the coolest! you should've gone to Malmö i think this part of sweden is unique
