at the prices of that new stuff these days, you need to cut some corners when you can. you can at least get er going and replace the worn out stufff as you can. can see the need to spend that cash tho on that stuff that is really hard to get too tho. that is justifiable!!

Check out the Help aisle at your local parts store. They have replacement tie rod and ball joint boots that would make a nice finish to this job.

no def not dumb but if you wanna you can sand em down and paint em then they look new and work well
