theres way better blues guitarist then this guy.. by far stevie ray vaughan for one even though he's not alive rest in peace alvin lee will murder this foe on guitar no doubt but this guy has something specail though i think he's wonderful but there is no best it's all based upon opinion because theres always someone better plus you can't but that kind of subtitle on music, music can't be rated by who's the best it's just virtually impossible it's all opinion.. everyboyd has like and dislikes.
@blumuze2 Chris isnt a legend(yet)cuz in blues it takes as you say a couple of lifetimes also touring 300 days per year like BB & the rest. Chris can stay home, play W. Coast&local gigs & most of the year & make a living. we toured 6 or seven weeks, 15 cities from Salt Lake to Montreal to N.M. Hard grind, but not 300 one nighters. & tho he is probably the best, and certainly the most prolific blues song writer since Willie Dixon,he'll never get airplay even if he writes another "thrill is gone".
With sheerluck and sander, here because of Joe Bonamassa's "like" on facebook. I love it when you get a recommend from another musician you highly repect. What a talent, I'd love to catch him live.
Unnoticed no more perhaps -- -Joe Bonamassa just 'liked' Chris on Facebook....let's hope the spotlight swings in the right direction and Chris gets the accolades he so truly deserves!
Saw him in Peoria last night. How does a guitar player like this go unnoticed? Phenomenal! I didn't catch the name of his current keyboardist, but he was as amazing as Cain. Top notch!
I retract my statement. . . This is the best blues I have ever heard. With a voice like B.B.'s and playing which is for the most part all your own, I think you could take the blues anywhere you wanted. And Chris is DEFINATELY doing that
Wow Chirs Cain can play some mean Blues! it's like listening to Albert King and BB at the same time! Can't wait to see you again when you come to town.
Holly Shit! I'd never heard of this guy until someone mention him on a guitar forum. So I googled Chris Cain and this is what I came up with. Far out.
Man! He's an incredible player and if I wasn't looking at the screen I could have sworn that was B.B. King singing! It's a shame that he's not super famous even in blues circles! Damn
chris cain has got SOUL. beautiful guitar playing. I saw him once at a big bluesfestival it was a shitty rainy day and i was rather unimpressed by the other non-bluesy acts but all of a sudden i heard some of the sweetest guitar playing conceivable and was drawn to the stage and totally blown away.
Chris is a Guitar GOD, not enough players know about him, he is just an astonishingly talented player and song writer. He inspired me to work on good sounding humbuckers, which I could have cared less about until I heard Chris play for the first time. OK, buckers CAN sound good, he's living proof...
Its nice to see Chris paired up with one of the best bass players in the business, George Lacson. He's on the right with the long hair and sunglasses.
I have seen this man live three times since this past July and have been totally blown away each time. You run out of superlatives trying to describe him. For my money, Chris is simply the finest Blues guitarist AND singer I've seen since Stevie Ray Vaughn in the 1980s. When he gets rolling on stage some kind of spirit comes down from Heaven and inspires him. A major, major, underrated talent.
@KENZOWAL Well there mister, there's this dude Buddy Witthington, ever heard of him? And of course there R plenty of fantastic guitarists out there that can play the blues... thousands and thousands gifted around our Globe that never ever gonna be recognized for their skills...
here here ,to all the above, just close your eyes ..... and nuff said been diggin this man but never fortunate to catch him

If there's a better blues guitarist out there I don't know who it is. Robben Ford? I think he lacks the passion of Chris Cain.

Wonderful post - awesome blues guitar and singing! Even acknowledged by Joe Bonamassa as great to listen to!

The question was asked: "Why isn't Chris a household name?" Because he isn't 20 years old and broodingly handsome. If he were, he'd be a sensation.

@blumuze2 Either is BB King.

If I were blind I'd believe I was listening to BB. Only the amazing guitar playing would give it away; like BB, but better.
