Unplug the USB key or external drive that your system is trying to boot to. This is common for Windows 7 boxes. When trying to boot to a USB device instead of the hard drive, the MBR of the hard drive will default to look for NTLDR, NTDETECT, and BOOT.INI
No. Vista and Windows 7 do not use NTLDR, NTDETECT, or BOOT.INI. They use what is called the BCD, or boot configuration data file. They then hand off to winload.exe to finish the boot process.
If it dropped you to justa C: prompt, the Windows directory cannot be found. This means the operating system is severely damaged. You can try typing cd windows and press enter. If it says invalid directory, or just drops to C:, run diagnostics on the hard drive. If they pass, you are reinstalling Windows from scratch.

Can someone answer me? Will FIXMBR command delete my files from the HDD? Is it safe to use it without backing up my files? I checked previously there are no viruses or malware on that disk. And what about other similar commands in recovery console. FIXBOOT or BOOTCFG? I am asking this cause I am having BSOD error 0x00000024 NTFS.SYS I can't hear the sound in this video cause I'm running the safe mode. Thank you.

@everyoneSalegend n theory, no. The Master Boot Record is put on by the drive manufacturer. It is simple machine code makes it a bootable device. nothing to do with your data.
I go wtf, so now I think that since I had to use e instead of d that the c at the end of that must change. I change it to a and it says "Access is denied"
Did it ask for an administrator password, or just drop to a C: prompt instead of C:\Windows? If so, one of 2 things has happened: the Windows installation is extremely corrupted, or the hard drive is failing.
how can i buy the cd to do this because i dont have the cd anymore?

Once you can boot to the CD, you can format the drive once the partitions are picked up.

Check your BIOS (System setup) to make sure your CD\DVD drive is detected. I am not sure what system you have, but it should be F2 or DEL key.

Did you copy both NTLDR and NTDETECT.COM over? If so, check by typing C: then Enter, then type dir and see if both NTDETECT and NTLDR are there.

okay so, I had to use e:\ instead of d:\
I type: copy ntldr c:\
It responds
File cannot be copied.
I go wtf, so now I think that since I had to use e instead of d that the c at the end of that must change. I change it to a and it says "Access is denied"
I didnt have to enter an admin pass.
What do I do?

You should be at an e:\i386 prompt, not just e:

Yeah I was, and it said
File Cannot be Copied

If It says acess denied , you are using the wrong drive letter for your cd romdrive.
to find the right letter type MAP and press enter
