I just love how the tape is so fuct at the beginning of this clip. The Meanies are so freakin' hard it scares me! Link should be in a hospital somewhere permanently the way he goes off!
god they still sound so great australia's answer to the ramones!!! i seen them with bad brains in brisbane mid 90,s. i was watchin dr know from b.b. checkin them out from the side as they played he had a grin fom ear 2 ear!!! the meanies were the real deal ROCK IN PEACE DD MEANIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The "Meanies" were totally legends, power pop punk, what an era, Tumblewed, Meanies, cosmic cycos, Magic dirt (when they were still good) Screamfeeder, Fridge....The list goes on.
BTW> The Meanies didn't just tour with pearl jam,Eddie vedder once said they were one of his favorite bands.
Fuck man, that is really sad. I remember watching DD play (Corner Hotel, Tote, God knows where else)many times over the years. I had the pleasure of a couple of conversations with the him. He seemed a very polite and unassuming type of guy. My condolances to his friends and family.
hey i only just found out that D.D had passed away, i actually was his carer for quite a period of time, i didnt see him again after august 07 as i left the job, im really sad, this makes me upset, i hope he is at peace now as he was very sick RIP
They were one of the bands that got people in Melbourne/Victoria excited about going to see live music. They consistantly released singles and when they released them they were on vinyl.
I don't think anything they recorded ever lived up to seeing them live.
NB Just to clear up something mrjez, Nirvana toured Australia in 1992.
In the gig I attended The Cosmic Psychos put on a pretty damn fine perfomance too.
i'm sorry DevoAl but you obviously dont know anything. This was/is a great band and they did a lot for Aus music. They even supported Pearl Jam when they toured - due to some handy bowling skills
this is probably the best thing i've seen on youtube. but i can understand your view. you're from what i like to call "the unlucky generation", that missed bands like this. never mind...
wow, it'sdefinitely them too. considering that they didn't feature it on the dvd they must have been ashamed of this one.. must have been their first clip.

I too was a young man in their day and trust me when I say, they were brilliant! This clip is not a good example of what they were like.

The video is crappy but the band and this song rocks

Agreed! This band could whip a crowd of kids into a uncontrolled violent frenzy at the many ALL-AGES shows they played around melbourne!
dri333 4 years ago
and they blew Nirvana off the stage when they toured in '91. for a 15 year old kid to see a band and crowd go that explosive was life changing!

this is a cool song from one of the best bands to ever come out of Australia.
Bad quality clip yes but they were always quirky and self-depricating.
