While Deltron is a blatant story of a dystopian future, gorillaz is a subtle story about a world that has gone to hell during the apocalypse. Some of the music I listed have albums that also tell a story too. Subtle or not
Deadmau5 is a product of the modern media machine. His popularity like many others is based on creating music that appeals to the lowest common denominator, that is why his music has to be so generic in order to make almost everyone happy. Unfortunately this is compounded by the fall of the music industry in the last 10 years. If profits were valued above all else before, then they sure fuck are now. Fortunately there is still lots of good music being made, but you have to work to find it.
No matter what you haters do, he is still rocking the 4th place in the DJ Mag top 100. Something you guys will probably never achieve. Just respect the man. He is inthe business for over 10 years. He knows what he is doing.

The reason i say the music you listen to sucks, is because there is no rhythm or stories or even effort. I could literally copy half of the new songs out there in WMM. Deadmau5 is a product of the modern media machine. His popularity like many others is based on creating music that appeals to the lowest common denominator, that is why his music has to be so generic in order to make almost everyone happy. Unfortunately this is compounded by the fall of the music industry in the last 10 years. If profits were valued above all else before, then they sure fuck are now. Fortunately there is still lots of good music being made, but you have to work to find it.

This vid would have a valid point if the music on it was even 10% of the quality of a Deadmau5 track,sadly it isn't even 1%, so sure, no skill and creativity required to make the piece of crap playing in this vid :)

@1wibble2 It may not have the production standards, but in terms of sequencing and ideas, it's exactly what a Deadmau5 tune sounds like. Sorry, I mean it's exactly what EVERY Deadmau5 tune sounds like. I actually don't tell people I DJ or like electronic music anymore because I'm sick of being asked "oh so you play stuff like Deadmau5 and Skrillex hey?". No. Fuck off. I play good music.

@andrewwowk You play music that YOU personally think is good, an important distinction haters like you will never understand ;). To your ears, the music you hate all sounds the same, you can't hear or understand the actual differences. Sooner you man up and realise this the better. Someone who hates the music you like would prob say exactly the same thing "oh it all sounds the same". We learning yet?. Bottom line, this vids music is nowhere near Deadmau5 standard, period.

@1wibble2 If you go back and read my post carefully, I pointed out that I agree in terms of production standards (i.e., mastering, eqing etc) Deadmau5 is very good. But in terms of creativity and originality his music is seriously lacking. I don't care if someone likes Deadmau5's music, taste is subjective, and if you LIKE it, cool, but trying to argue that his music is particularly FRESH or ORIGINAL is just pushing shit up-hill.

@andrewwowk A sign of a great artist is one who's style gets imitated a lot by other artists. Many have copied the Deadmau5 style, that makes him a standout artist whether you like it or not ;) Oh and production is as important as notes in terms of grabbing a persons attention, its the overall mix that touches someone.

@1wibble2 All music any genre will most likely sound similar to another in the same but it just so happens that the most popular tend to be the most shitty. It's like saying some Mc.Donalds sells better quality food than a 5 star restaurant but hey Mc.Donalds is just more popular because of how cheap and accessible it is. Those with actual taste see how bland it is and if they do happen to like it anyways then whatever but at least they know better is out there unlike most people.
