AFRO-CENTRICITY IS NOT JUST CHANGING WARDROBE. PLACING A HEADWRAP ON YOUR CROWN OR LOC'N YOUR HAIR. ITS MUCH DEEPER AN FAR MORE MEANINGFUL THAN THAT. It is a state of mind, being, spirit, soul & wisdom. You cant purchase it off the rack.
Maybe changing you clothes isnt what afro-centricity is about but doing this has helped me open up my eyes alot about who i am and where i came from. I mean your like its much deeper than that, well baby i gotta crawl before i walk righ honey? where was i supposed to learn this at? At school during African American history month? yeah right. get ya mind right.stop hatin'
Since when has being or becoming "AFROCENTRIC' has been relegated to a contest. Being what you SHOULD already be isnt a contest. An now amount of african drums or bongos will make you so. Afrocentric IS NOT A FASHION. It is who you are or should be.
dude 1st of all i think the point of Ms tko having the contest was to introduce/ teach us about being afrocentric. I come a city that is 82% white, the are not other ppl but black and white, no Asians, Mexicans, ect. So I knew nothing about any other culture including my own. This helped me open up my eyes to things.Showing me that this is what our ppl look like and I dont have to be all Rocaweared out to be beautiful. this and other things i have been reading and watching has opened my eyes
Well when i was trying to stretch the neck it ripped on one side then i just ripped it on the other side to make it even. so the sleeve wouldnt go across my chest so i tied it above my chest and since the shirt was hanging low cause of the rips I made in it, it just gave a really cool effect. im glad you like it.
