Just for the hell of it I did a google search on W Gibbs 7th Hussars, and there was a Lieutenant William Gibbs serving with the 7th Hussars, who received the Queens South Africa Medal for service in the Boer War. Possibly the very man who owned this gun.

@Rewardedgamer The oils on your hands are corrosive to the bluing on these pistols. they have to be kept clean and oiled or they will rust where you touch them. to answer your other question, they are aquired thru gunshows and auctions mostly.
