The Pest Chaser should be plugged in continuously. It might require up to 2 weeks before full effect is seen. 

The Victor Pest Chaser will work for at least a year but often more depending on how often you get power surges.

Hi,

Ultra sounds don't repel insects unfortunately. Some our competitors claim that they do but we have not been able to prove it through scientific tests.

The frequency range of those devices cannot be heard by by non-rodents pets so dogs & cats are OK.
