Gabbie - About your brownies for some reason the altitude has something to do with the cooking time. I don't know exactly how it works I just recall seeing special directions for people that live in high altitudes in various recipes.

You can't tell by "browning" because they are already dark brown. Follow the recipe times and do some trial and error. You have to get to know a specific recipe, baked in a specific oven (at a specific altitude) to be able to count on when it is done. I'm sure your brownies probably tasted great. Next time if its still bad in centre, just eat the edges. Do try it again Gabi. :)

I applaud oyur efforts. It is unbelievably hard to cook a surprise meal for someone you spend every minute with!

Awesome video - thank you ROb for the excellent day for night tips. And, Gabi - how wonderful, thank you for sharing a little window into your life, especially for this grand occasion. But, you know brownies are a unique baked-good unto themselves, and you can't "test" them like other baked goods i.e. the "clean fork" method dose NOT apply. Brownies remain "wet" even when they are done.
