  • no thanks, i've been riding bikes for years and every accident i've had the bike ended up someplace i'd rather not be while i've had a bit of roadrash i've escaped without being pinned beneath a car or crushed against a tree, bike might be totalled but i walked away everytime because i wasn't part of its momentum and slid to a stop well before it did

  • what about head gear if you fall your head will hit the ground that dont look to safe

the bike looks cool I would ware some thing over my head if I was riding it

  • That shit looks retarded

  • @joonsuk88 I agree, Having no seat belt will let one to quickly detach one the vehicle, this way the vehicle wouldn't grad the person with it causing tangling inside the vehicle. Seat belt is not a good concept for motor bike but why BMW such an experienced company thought other wise , I just couldn't get the logic

  • @floatinsun The logic is simple really. You don't get 'tangled' inside a C1, just like you are not tangled inside a Fiat Punto during a crash. C1 is certainly far more dangerous than Punto (no doors =)), but then again it is a LOT safer than Vespa 300.

  • @joonsuk88 I see what you're saying, but I think the seatbelt makes sense. It's got a rollcage. You want to be in that cage during an accident, not taking your chances with the pavement.

  • so...there is a SEATBELT, but no HELMET?

Like that rollbar thing is going to keep a head from smacking the pavement?

  • i want one

  • this looks just stupid

  • Yeah how much to replace the battery hey I love BMW but this is bs???

  • @joonsuk88 seatbelts good - stay IN the safety cell & keep the world at bay!!

  • @tobyholland1961

Let's see, I laid my R65ls down on a rode trip, from the damage I would guess it flipped 5 or 6 times. I was wearing steel toed boots, leather jacket, leather gloves, helmet etc, after I stopped sliding I stood up and picked up my camping gear. Personally I would not have wanted to be strapped on to the bike.

  • Seats belts, BAD, but it has reverse, good, but i has seat belts.....ah man, I'm confused!

  • when is the release date as i have never been able to get a date from them, so BMW GB when is it coming

  • my grandpa had something like that!

but with 2 wheels at the back

  • id catwalk this bytch!!!!!!

  • 1st bike with seatbelts that ive seen yet

  • gee there safety jane, where your helmet? btw nice concept, but it will never compare with the power and acceleration of a combustion engine...

  • @banarama09 And who said it was suppose to?

  • Comment removed

  • @banarama09 Electric motors can wipe the floor with the combustion engine. Take a look at the Tesla Roadster which is currently in production for Ferrari beating performance (and economy!). Electric motors produce maximum torque at zero RPM. Combustion engines get around 30% efficiency. Electric can easily achieve 80% efficiency. See "electric adventures" - Google it. Some students are currently driving 26,000 km along the Pan-American Highway in a car they designed and built themselves.

  • wow this is also nice and there are others to like this the yamaha and honda which is better?

  • the old1 looking better i guess.. i dont wanna get wind in mu face , why did the make the screen like this?the rain would get in and makes me wed as i peed myself :-| i hope it's adjustable!

  • can it pull a stoppie and roll over back onto it's wheels?

  • BMW Welt, amazing.

  • kinda like the concept. since their is a roof adn seat belts do you not need a helmet?

Not giving up my street bike just because its more dangerous though.

  • @joonsuk88 You are wrong, most collisions are head on. Dude read some researches. Why do you think HONDA made airbag for the goldwing, im sure because most collisions are not head-on and they all are bunch of newbies and idiots.

  • Great, I would buy it. BMW - do it! I have an old C1 and it is perfect for the city. For longer trips I prefer my "real" motorcycle. :-)

  • Seat belts are for communist. the bike is very cool except for the roll bar and seat belt

  • it has a reverse throttle? so BMW continues this C1 Scooters?

  • I imported a C1 because I love the concept. You are all wrong about it being impractical or unsafe, I feel much safer on this than a motorcycle (and I owned motorcycles for many years). I would buy an electric one in a heartbeat

  • 5:15 ...Argghhh!!! Even in video they are parking WRONG! PARK IN 90 DEGREE angle to the pavement!!!

  • i think 90 degress wouldnt be good for the camera angle...and may be the parking is different in germany :)

  • I rode the original BMW C1 which had a lot more weight up top and it was fine. Unless you are completely useless you won't tip it i n a rush.

  • FAIL

  • Hmmmm maybe the rollbar maked this scooter Top-Heavy.......MAAAAYYYbbbeeeee the seatbelt creates a "death-trap". Why is BMW not paying me $100,000 a year to point this out??????

Good job BMW designers. Hers an idea, put 100 kgs of "stabilizer" weight right on top of that roll bar!!! also the feet should be securly locked in place

  • @eastcoaster54 In response to your question "Why is BMW not paying me $100,000 a year to point this out??????" my response is they'd be wasting their money on someone who doesn't know what he is talking about! I've owned two C1s and am just about to buy my third (I had to leave the others behind when I moved countries). The C1 concept saves lives and is a fantastic commuter vehicle!

  • I thought it was a sentry gun in Half Life 2 at 0:01

  • I ride C1 for 3 years now, this is the only thing on two wheels that gives some chance of survival. Joonsuk88, you want to be detached? Go ahead, detach yourself into a car with which you are colliding. Just watch the C1 crash tests and compare them with let's Honda GoldWing crashtest, where the head is detached.. If Andrea Pininfarina was riding a C1 he would be very much alive today. So, BMW puleeeez bring out the new C1 as soon as possible!!

  • @OzIsmailov not a chance dude when you fall the bikes momentum lasts longer plus the bike is heavier so when you fall the bike drives you if you keep holding. Watch motogp when they fall they always leave the bike that's like rule number one when you are riding

  • @pgrigoriou , That is the problem with some motorcyclists. Some think that MotoGP logic applies to the riding on the streets and highways. Well I got the news for you, somehow MotoGP organiserts thought that it is a good idea to ban other cars and trucks on the track during race (and still some kids get killed - by another bike of course).

  • However, on the street what happens when you 'leave your bike' is that you have a nice slide of 20-30 meters and have a nice contact with the soft and fluffy truck tire that was passing nearby. For my colleague a couple of years ago that contact unfortunately resulted in a very expensive coffin. He was wearing a full gear and was travelling at 60 kph when he slid on a wet road.

  • I agree with how crazy it to have set belt on a scooter ( or any 2 wheel bike for that matter.) But I do kind a like the idea of the roll bar. How much help it will provide don't know, but it is better than the set belt

  • haha, i love how she checks her blind spot before taking off

  • I'll really need some convincing for me to go along with the idea of having a seat belt on a motorcycle. Having a "roll-over bar" (for messed up wheelies, I must assume, haha) isn't going to convince me otherwise.

  • uuugly... :P

  • whats the point of the covering? so if you slam on the breaks you can do a loop? If they got rid of that and the stupid seatbelt stuff, it might look slightly presentable, right no it looks like a queermobile!!!

  • I can see the point of something like this for sure... I think if I was going to HAVE to use one I may wear a balaclava... Nice idea and a good progression forward.

  • Seat belt makes up for lack of crash helmet ???

  • Oh yes it does!
