  • Every tine I watch this I cry!

  • What a great voice Goulet has!

  • All I can think when watching the part of Jeremy Irons is Scar

  • Kristen Chenoweth smiling like a little kid after that note :]

  • YAY FOR JULIE ANDREWS. may i also say that kristin chenoweth was adorable here ;)

  • Audra's performance was not cut during the original broadcast. I watched it that night and she definitely sang the whole song.

  • Best KCH performance ever!

  • overwhelmed!! can't stop crying! what an amazing wonderful woman! she is my favorite thing!!!!! :)

  • @iceprincess955 They cut Audra out of the tv broadcast..

  • Why'd you cut Audra?

  • @iceprincess955 or cut her off, rather...

  • That finale gave me goosebumps just like Dame Julie does. Yikes!

  • *sigh* I miss this Kristin.

  • @MsTanikaLee huh?

  • @PeaceNdLovee Broadway Kristin. Not pop/country/wtf Kristin

  • 5.40 is she off private pratice

  • mmmmmm patrick wilson <3

  • @JillyPooh yes, yes, yes

  • What a manly voice Goulet has!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Holy shit Kristin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg Kristin Chenoweth's "spoonful of sugar" is one of the best things i've ever heard ever

  • Why is Audra's part cut? ...racist bast!!

  • Chenowith has ballz! Talk about stand and deliver, wow!

  • @GreenLifeSource eth, Chenoweth

  • The ending was perfect when they repeated "and I'll sing" 3 times because Julie had that botched operation on her vocal chords and will never sing as she did before.

  • I love how Julie reaches back for her husband's hand because she wasn't sure if Robert Goulet would reach those notes! He did a great job though!

  • Thank you Thumper

  • Ah Jeremy Irons, underrated. But my god that was actually beautiful vocals by him. Despite the fact he doesnt really need to sing that song, he manages with full naturalness to make that song sound so smooth

  • Musical geniuses, what key is this in? I know that some of you have a perfect ear. Help a sista out. :)

  • Fuck Elizabeth! Julie should be the Queen of England!!! :):) <3 <3 I LOVE JULIE!!!

  • Omg is this the year Pavarotti was honored? And I'm mad Audra's bit was cut short. and ahhh Scar singing was just still scary to me..sorry..lol

  • whose the first guy that sings?

  • @QuarterQuell100 Patrick Wilson :)

  • @QuarterQuell100 Patrick Wilson. He was Raoul in Phantom of The Opera, and was in the broadway cast of the Full Monty.

  • i honestly believe and i'm sure everyone would agree that Julie Andrews is the most deserving artist to be given a tribute and recognition by the Kennedy Center Honors.

  • And can I just say that I miss THIS Kristin Chenoweth? Nowadays she's a bit more of a "celebrity," as in she's always wearing the perfect clothes and huge sunglasses and she looks absolutely GAUNT. <3

  • Julie Andrews and Kristin Chenoweth are my theatre idols. Very different personalites, very different accents, very different appearances, but the same warmth and love for everyone and everything, and they both have talent spilling out of their ears.

  • i grew up on julie andrews and she is one of he most admirable women i have ever seen and she is an idol to all who have seen and heard her

  • It's so adorable when Jack Nicholson gives her his handkerchief. Who knew he was such a gentleman? And then she pretends to blow her nose in it. : )

Is anyone else kind of disappointed that no one sang Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?

  • Wow, pavaturkey was still with us. Sad he's gone.

  • Lets face it we were gonna watch it because we saw the picture of Kristin and then shit ourselves because it had to do with Julie. But were scared that it would be an overload of awesomeness! :)

  • You can't get any better than Julie! Her reaction to the tributes show what a lovely person she is! I love her dress, she looks stunning (and definitely not like she's in her 60s). The guy sat behind her, to the left of the screen, with the glasses, sat next to Blake, is that Jimmy Garner? Because it really looks like him, but I wasn't sure!

  • Lovely Julie, I adore you.

  • Julie Andrews is wonderful and amazing; but how cute is Kristin Chenoweth? So adorable and such a perfect performance of "A Spoonful of Sugar."

  • Julie Andrews is still so beautiful and adorable! I love Kristin's tribute (as usual, she is also awesome!!)

  • who sings at 5 45?

  • @AnimeLuver88

    Audra MacDonald

  • Lovely songs. The Sound of Music at the end is wonderful.

I so much hope that Julie will sing once more the way she used to... she deserves it.

  • Love the Julie's Dress

  • beautiful ending

  • pure lady, i grew up with your voice Julie, and now I'm training singer, I cry at this because you are timeless :) xxxx

  • Julie Andrews is stunning.

  • Julie Andrews was such a role model to me ever since I was a child. I remember constantly watching Sound of Music over and over again...it's still one of my favourite movies after so many years. Beautiful talent.

  • and when Robert sings, it must be very nostalgic for Julie because he sang that same song to her onstage in Camelot :)

the way he sings it captures the romance of that beautiful musical.

  • 4:25 to 4:41?

My goodness, Robert, I think you just made my heart skip a beat. <3

  • "On the street" is flat almost all the way through :( OMG KRISTIN!! Robert's voice is SEXY! Why is Audra cut off? Jeremy, why are you singing?

    JULIE, you are legend

  • @thegaythespian Naw, he caught himself. He wasn't flat for that long.

  • Julie Andrews is wonderful actress and queen songs.

  • OMG Kristen! <3 loooved it :)

  • I love when Jack offered her the tissue-I live and breath this ceremony every year, and this is my favorite performance at it ever. I cry every time.

  • WOW WOW WOW ..... how can you not fall in love with julie she is my icon in every way!!!

  • What happened to Audra's part???

  • thumbs up if you smile everytime julie does :)

  • 1) I love Kristen!

    2) I love love Audra!

But most if all I love Julie and would simply die if I got the chance to perform and receive a thumbs up or a blown kiss!!

  • these have done a great job!!!

But Julie is still the best one :D

  • lol Kristen Chenoweth just... lol why so amazing you woman >.>

  • Are there any more parts

  • @sugacilic These are the only two parts with Julie.

  • ok i seriously FLAT OUT CRIED!! haha

  • patrick wilson is sooo gorgeous

  • I LOVE Rebecca Luker!!! I just love love love her voice. She was MAGNIFICENT in The Secret Garden (as Lillius Craven) alongside Mandy Patinkin (as Archibald Craven; he also played in the early seasons of Criminal Minds before Joe Mantengna took his place)!!!

  • I absolutely adore the look on Pavarotti's face after Kristin sings. He looks like an incredibly gleeful kid looking at incredible Christmas lights. Just joyful :)

And the reaction in the box at the finale is even more moving than the voices themselves. Seeing them all mouthing, "Whoa!" "Wow!" "Unbelievable!" and "Beautiful!" is so...I don't know...sincere and touching.

I hope that one day, I have the grace and class Julie Andrews holds in her little finger.

  • What is the first song from?

  • @riegjd2110 that song is from My Fair Lady

  • DL the audio from this song at thetunify doht cohm.

  • I love the reaction in the box.. Julie and the others openly mouthing WOW at the finale

  • Honestly, I'm kind of upset that 3 of the songs were from My Fair Lady. There is so much else that she did...

  • @skitscuddlydoo - well, My Fair Lady is what many people consider to be what made her a star

  • Fantastic!! She was a fabulous lady & most beautiful voice. She had a T.V.show in the 70's called The Julie Andrews Show does anyone have some of it??She often had Robert Goulet as her guest. No T.V.like that now!!!!!

  • Julie Andrews is just so amazing. And so were all the performers. I love Patrick Wilson and Kristen Chenoweth, and that FINALE! chills

  • I love Julie Andrews. She's such an inspiring figure!

  • Jeremy Irons. Smile at me like that all the time.

  • 6:00 - OMGness...IT'S SCAR FROM THE LION KING!!!!

  • I freaking love Kristin Chenoweth!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that finale was a giant wall of voices. it must've been incredible live.

  • Holy shit. Julie Andrews, Jack Nicholson, and Pavarotti all sitting in the same box. I can't believe it didn't collapse under the weight of their talent.

  • I cry EVERYTIME I see this finale. Amazing...

  • Wow, I love Julie Andrews.♥ I remember watching this when I was a teenager.

The first time I watched it I cried, I'm crying again.

Thanks for sharing. It is really great to watch this again. :)

  • i LOVED the stunt with the handkerchief

i dont think i would have ever stopped clapping for her....

  • i love Julie's reaction to Kristen. it's so adorable

  • Kristen's performance was great but she should have ditched the dancing - her voice is good enough that she doesn't need stuff like that to carry through!

  • I love Audra, but it wasn't her best performance. I wish you had included ALL of Rebecca Luker's appearance though.

  • Julie andrews is the definition of Elegance, Class and Natural Beauty. I also loved Kristin's version of 'A Spoonful of Sugar' I GREW UP with that movie!!

  • Patrick wilson<3 did soo amazing!!!!

  • I'm a fully grown man not afraid to admit that made me cry. What a legend.

  • I still cannot comprehend how I was lucky enough to meet her and sing just for her. She is so remarkable.

  • it made me cry!! was that pavaroti and nickolson sitting beside her??

  • I love watching Julie Andrews throughout all of her tribute - she's so humble and takes all the praise and dedication with a grateful smile. And I also love how she gives Kristin Chenoweth a double-thumbs up after her song. It's kind of like, "You did GREAT, kid!"

  • when they all sing "The sound of music" in the end WOW !!!! :)

    IT MADE ME CRY..

  • gottat love the chenonote. Gotta love the Chenoweth. Gotta love Julie Frickin Andrews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • okay I knew KRISTIN CHENOWETH could sing but I NEVER knew she ahd that kind of power. Blew my wig and socks..okay readjusting my attire..now back to the regularly scheduled program already in progress

  • that council of old guys behind Julie really throws me off

  • This makes me cry. It's wonderful. Ah! To have been there! Julie Andrews is a gift from heaven.

  • Kristen has ballz, great job!

  • Julie Andrews mind as well be given a crown and a throne already. She's so magnificently regal in everything she does.

  • fuck me kristin chenowith! that note was mad

  • i cant stop crying, i love julie! x

  • Julie Andrews is not just PRACTICALLY perfect. She IS perfect.

  • "Mary Poppins would think this is cheeky but I'm going to do it anyways!"

  • It makes me smile how Kristin has this incredible singing voice that is rivalled by almost no other singer out there, but when she talks she sounds like a cartoon. It just doesn't match up! I <3 her speaking voice, so don't think I am criticising, but the two don't go together at all!

  • Jeremy Irons is lovely!!

  • I've always thought of Julie Andrews as a queen in every aspect of the word.

  • Julie Andrews is so regal in everything thing she does. Just looking at her brings a smile to me face.

  • Julie for President!!!!!!

  • I can't even say how much I love Julie. She's frankly a sort of ideal. She's perfect. That's it. That's the word. She's perfect. There is not a thing about her, not a hair, not a thing I would change. She is perfect. And forever.

  • @HoustonKeith72 hey... you could even say... Practically Perfect In Every Way (mary poppins) haha

  • why would you cut Audra???

  • Julie is one of the most amazing, excellent and brilliant performers in entertainment history. She deserves this tribute and more! What a lovely lady!

  • Look at Bob Goullet breakin' it off

  • Wilson's voice is like a finely tuned athlete

  • kristin is awesome! wow. I would have never thought that little thing.. wow

  • as much as mary poppins is still my favorite movie ever i think kristin totally rocked those vocals!

  • awe man why did you cut audra's part???

  • Julie Andrew's posture, reactions, emotions etc really shows how humble she is...if only the people who are admired today could be just as amazing as the great Julie Andrews

  • Julie Andrews... the epitome of class and elegance.

  • It could not have happened to a finer 'Lady!'

  • I love this lady. The first movie I remember seeing was "Mary Poppins" I was 4 years old.

  • Aw snap, it's Robert Goulet! *smile* Everyone did a fabulous job.

  • KRISTIN CHENOWETH, please never die!

  • 6:17 Scar has grown accustomed to her face.

God this clip is historic! You have Mary Poppins, Glinda the Good and Scar all in one place.

  • Almost crying with her! She´s wonderful!

  • I love how Kristin makes the song her own....and obviously Julie thought so too.....2 of the most amazing women ever.....

  • Ummmm..Jack Nicholson? Are you trying to get into Julie's pants? Blake Edwards face was priceless when Jack gave Julie the hankie ;-)

  • Does anyone else notice Blake Edwards snickering at 4:54?? Whyy??

  • @yeydisney I was wondering too...maybe it was hearing Robert Goulet's Las Vegas stand-by arrangement one time too many ...nevertheless, I heard him sing this the same year at carnegie hall at a Alan J lerner tribute and I must say he is in much better voice here..really putting in an effort and not faking it a little as he did many times...

  • great great tribute, very moving and wow. kristen chenowith stole it though.

  • It's so sad they ended with and I'll sing and I'll sing and I'll sing...... because she can't do it anymore!!!! Poor Julie. I love her.

  • First of all, Julie Andrews is the epitome of class and talent. I simply adore her. Second of all, I hope to one day see a Kennedy Center Honors for Kristin Chenoweth, who is among the most talented singers of the day and is just so lovely. This was a treat to watch. Thank you for sharing!
