She needs to go... right now. and the UC Davis "police force" needs to be de-militarized: they don't need weapons, they don't need riot gear and they certainly don't need chemical weapons. That a university has such a security force is just unbelievable and completely unnecessary.

Whether she was broken up or not, the decision to send campus police in full riot gear into this situation without taking the implications of doing so into consideration, was an incredibly poor one. And she was the one who made it.
You don't send cops in full riot gear into a peaceful demonstration and expect they're going to ask the protestors to play dominoes and split a sandwich. A person of her level of intelligence should have understood that from the beginning.

Like students a University Chancellor must learn from his/her mistakes.

Her own faculties are calling for her resignation on this. If you've lost the respect of your staff, how are you ever going to expect to get anything accomplished?
