  • That's absolutely right! I decided to watch this film simply because Melissa Leo and John Goodman are in it, and I'm glad I did. It is the best Kevin Smith movie I've seen so far, and I've seen them all. Other than the swipe they take at the U.S Gov't and the measures it has taken to fight terrorism, I liked it a whole lot and highly recommend it. It shows the danger that all these fundamentalist religious nutcases like the Phelps family truly represent, and why they need to be monitored closely

  • @frankylovesyall Cool, I didn't mean to imply Kite Runner was well received by everyone. Just by many "American liberals," as that was who was in question by the other poster.

Also, Kevin Smith (the creator of "Red State") has said that he is Christian. I think this is a criticism of extremism. Not all Christians. The church in this movie is a church that condemns others. Those types of churches exist. Lastly, it is a horror, not a drama like Kite Runner and I probably shouldn't compare them. :)

  • The Neller Project

  • shit movie. kevin smith, you disappoint me you fat fuck.

  • @baphomet58 lol red state was kickass, youre ignorant.

  • Produced by: ABCNews

    Starring: Melissa Leo

    Filmed by: A microwave

  • The funniest part is that homosexuals in "Blue States" will laugh at an older woman trying to get boys to have drunken sex in a "Red State."

Since Kevin Smith movies all take place in malls and in Jersey, I'm surprised he even knows what other states inland look like.

  • "Homicide: Life on the Streets," "Frozen River," "The Fighter"... Melissa Leo is one of the best actors alive.

  • "... I don't want no man in me unless he's had a couple beers in him"

    LOL....what a great line.

  • Damn I'll fuck her old ass..If she would've said that to me I would've already had my pants down with a hard on....LOL

  • Listening to some of the things this woman is talking about... she's really, really full of herself...

  • @mychokehold She has taken A LOT of small roles in movies to come this far. It seems like every movie I watch lately she's in it.

  • @Br4veDave Just judging on a few things she said. Personally I've never heard of her before this, but I'm not too into movies.

  • Why does this have so many dislikes?

  • @jagamasat Because people get so uptight.

  • DontBeMadHaHaHa, first of all, thanks for having a name that's so long (like I should say anything), but I know how to cure your problem. You need about 3 quarts of crocodile blood, a feather from a kiwi bird & the snot from a congested anteater... mix 'em up, smoke it & you'll feel right as rain! XD

  • @dirtyscrotumpuncher your a pinworm in my faggot shit

  • Detective Kay Howard!

  • @frankylovesyall Other things that have been banned by Afghanistan's ministry of culture: Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, almost a third of Google search results, and at least a dozen european newspaper cartoon series.

Although, if you want to keep the issue central to Kite Runner, the book was also the subject of several small town book burnings by christian neo-conservatives perpetuating anti-muslim hate speech. Afghanistan isn't the only place the crazies call home

  • @fram4153 - "Hate speech." More like thought control. There's no such thing as "hate speech" you know-nothing fascist tool.

Go back to the Cult of Political Correctness and pray over the god of Diversity.

  • @thomaserossi ooh I'm so scared, you learned a few hot-button phrases and threw them together. I bet you feel all badass now don't you? I live in South Carolina, I have met pricks that were more angry and racist than you in person. In fact, one took a swing at me just the other day, he went home with three cracked ribs, a limp, and a bottle of Nyquil I bought him so he could sleep through the pain.

Kids, stay in school, and don't end up like Thomas here.

  • @thomaserossi You are probably the biggest idiot hipster on YouTube. "Facist this, facist that." Get a clue.

  • @fram4153 I'd like some documentation for your assertion that "The Kite Runner" was "...the subject of several small town book burnings by christian neoconservatives perpetuating anti-muslim hate speech." The only protests that I could locate were verbal jabs from the PC crowd that the book portrayed the Taliban-Islamist characters in a bad light. In short, thew only protests I could locate came from people such as yourself, who are on the lookout for "anti-Muslim speech." Show me evidence.

  • @EC66OK go read some of the bible, not follow any of the cult rules, and go worship thin air and be full of yourself.

  • @mychokehold Do you have a point? If so, it's indiscernible. As for "worship[ping] thin air..." I myself am not an environmentalist, but feel free yourself. I've read the Bible innumerable times. I highly recommend it. As for being full of myself, I am unaware of any alternatives? Do tell, though, whom should I be full of instead?

  • @EC66OK you know good and well I can't post links here. try doing your own research. a guy that led one of those book burnings (which happened in my home state of South Carolina) even started a facebook group calling on people to "pay tribute to those clasic wastes of time like great expectations and the kite runner with a cloud of black smoke" (in the description). The book burnings weren't well documented beyond more than a mention, but the information is out there, you just gotta look.

  • @fram4153 Fair enough, but as I said I couldn't locate any references to this. I'll assume it occurred, and hope that fairminded people can see the difference between a few morons burning books they haven't read (I'll assume they at least paid for them first) and a film invited to premiere at the Sundance Film festival. To wit: one act is so marginal that mention of it can't be found by googling, while the other is the subject of interviews with ABC news and a coveted slot at Sundance.

  • @fram4153 Out of curiousity: If the guy in S.C. had burned the American flag, as opposed to a couple of books, would you be as upset by that? Also, if they had burned copies of "Red State" as opposed to the books would you care?

  • @EC66OK burning flags is protected speech, and a longstanding traditional expression of discontent with the government. Burning a book just because it discusses a culture other than yours is an expression of hate, so yes I would feel differently. Now, considering the "church" in Red State is a parody of Westboro Baptist Church, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if some idiot christians burned it thinking they were mocking all of christianity. A different day, a different fundamentalist nutjob.

  • @frankylovesyall funny... 70% of the people in US prisons are Christian. Guess how many prisoners are atheist? 0.05%... yet we make up almost 20% of the US population now. By the state's definition, christians are 1000 times more likely to be a menace to society than atheists. I know it's hard to accept the fact that the 20% of the country that disagrees with you are actually better people, but then again you can't even accept that they still exist unless someone says "happy holidays"

  • @fram4153 Odd thing about statistics. Anyone can use them. I could use your line of "reasoning" to say the prison population is 60% black while only "15%" of the population is black, would that be legit or divisive? Also, do you suppose that if phrases such as "....prisoner "xyz" has found a deep devotion to atheism" appearing in parole reports led to early releases or otherwise favorable recommendations, do you think the numbers of sudden "atheists" in the prison system would rise much?

  • @EC66OK I see this argument all the time "You're using facts to make an argument I don't agree with, your facts are made up." If you care so much, do your own research. I put time and effort into making sure I stay well informed, if you did the same perhaps you'd take a different position on the issue.

  • @fram4153 Honestly, I'm not stalking you, it's just that you at least make interesting points. To continue, since I ran out of space above (or below, or wherever youtube puts me) If 70% of the prison population are "Christians" while 90% of the population "believes in God", that correlates roughly to the demographics of the general population, allowing that 30% of the general population fall under Jewish, Muslim, Wiccan, atheist, etc., making your point moot.

  • @EC66OK I like a good debate, I just prefer it to rely on legitimate arguments. Everything I've said is factual. Google "prisoner religion survey" and click the first result. My statistics were taken from the American Religious Identification Survey (ARIS)

  • ARIS data for inmates: 76.6% - Christian 19.1% - No Religion/Refused to Answer 1.3% - Jewish 0.7% - Other/Not Specified 0.5% - Muslim/Islamic 0.5% - Buddhist 0.4% - Atheist 0.3% - Hindu 0.05% - Native American 0.04% - Bahai 0.027% - Sikh 0.026% - Scientology 0.01% - Santeria 0.005% - Rastafarian
  • @fram4153 Many inmates find religion after they are imprisoned. Your data sample is useless because it doesn't take that into consideration. Or maybe you just forgot to mention that.

  • Leo's a bitch, she tried to say me and my friends film had no story and we were ruining the film industry. Well the film won FIRST PLACE at the Lake Placid 24 hr Film Competition where she was a judge. The audience loved it.

  • @Shirishama1 how does that make her incorrect you cum-guzzling illiterate ?

  • @52barney Sounds like a touched a nerve on a Leo fan. XD Well, you and she can agree together. Have fun with it. Don't know how you got "illiterate" out of that, especially with your poorly punctuated post. *wave*

  • when i poop it hurts really bad

when i hav watery poop it feels delicious

i like to wipe my butt with tissues.

  • $10...and you can just torrent the thing for free...

    Idiots!

  • WASUP NIGGERS

  • This movie is based on fred phelps and his church, not the entire religion of Christianity. All of you theists always want to bitch and complain about "movies" attacking your cult religion, maybe you shouldn't be on the internet.

  • @gibememoni - Spoken like a true fascist.

  • @gibememoni Wow. Good job turning a sweeping generalization INTO A SWEEPING GENERALIZATION. Don't be the pot calling the kettle black jackass.

  • @gibememoni Anybody who bitches about bitching on the internet clearly hasn't spent much time on the Internet.

  • Jack-off Liberals with your stupid movie brainwashing crap. STUFU you pathetic jerks. Spin, lie, obfuscate, twist. Bunch of garbage from Leftist fools, as usual.

  • Obvious atheist propaganda is obvious

  • @ubermisogynist Obvious idiot is obvious. You might want to look up the definition of propaganda, bible banger. Tons of pun intended.

  • @mychokehold

    prop·a·gan·daNoun/ˌpräpəˈgandə/

    1. Information, esp. of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.

atheist are definitely biased and it's misleading for them to say all religious people act like this and they are trying to promote/publicize their point of view.im just pointing out the obvious..it's not an entertainment movie and Kevin Smith has stated his hatred of religion so...

  • @ubermisogynist holy fucking sweeping generalizations. what is wrong with people like you? is the world SO FUCKING black and white to you?? And I quote, "atheist are definitely biased and it's misleading for them to say all religious people act like this and they are trying to promote/publicize their point of view." First off, dick head, is that your name? You're just as bad as them. All I hear out of your mouth is "ALL BLACK PEOPLE ARE CROOKS" or "ALL JEWS ARE LAWYERS." What is wrong withyou?

  • @ubermisogynist And your username? Really? You have no credibility. You're fighting for Christians and at the same time you're wearing a username that's blatantly saying "women aren't people."

  • If red state was made about Islam, they would all be arrested for hate speech. It is sick and inaccurate.

  • @1835msd Um, no they wouldn't be.

  • @elfred1980 your are nieve if you think that. You would have every left wing nut job throwing them under the bus. If it were different you would have seen an islamic movie by now. This movie shows Hollywoods intolerance. There are a lot of people who will think all christians are that way, yet they are not. Kevin smith has the right to make whatever he wants, I am just stating that it would be different if you changed the villian.

  • @1835msd The Kite Runner showed a very ugly side of Islam and was nominated for and won many awards. Please stop playing the victim.

  • @NucularRobit wait a minute are you a liberal, telling me to stop playing the victim. funny. I don't care what smith makes, I am just saying that you have not seen anything like this for Islam, cair and the liberals wouldn't have it.

  • @1835msd "The Kite Runner" I already told you what to look for. It should be easy for you. It is a movie that showed Muslims as the bad guys. What aren't you understanding? There were no protests, there were no arrests, it won awards from the "liberal media." But the second a crazy Christian is depicted, "Oh hell no! We are the victims once again!"

  • like it

  • I love how real Melissa Leo is.

  • GREAT Film!!!!.

  • Many views, Lol.

  • I'm always amazed at hollywood's childishness.

  • @rolin600 For what? Making films that explore the complexities of life? I mean, the Phelps did give Kevin Smith material, so, maybe we should rethink who are the real childish ones.

  • Left the video when I saw an ad. This is youtube not TV.

  • @JasionJones just get fuckin add block plus for chrome or firefox.....come on now....people still watch youtube adds??

  • @xkyrulzx some people understand that they can see these videos because of the ads, and deal with a few seconds of it.

  • So how did this shit movie end up being featured on Youtube?

  • @manwiththemachinegun YouTube pushes agendas just like the TV. Thats how.

  • ugly unclassy cheap whore.
