A liberal brought us out of the GReat Depression and republican policies are what caused both huge collapses. A liberal brought us out of the GReat Depression and republican policies are what caused both huge collapses. In addition, it was Clinton who expanded the CRA via executive order. The CRA forces banks to make loans to people who can't get them normally (i.e. subprime loans)

Let the record speak for itself; Reagan won the third Largest victory in history in 1980 and the Largest in 1984. He ended his term with a near 70% approval, he was the first president Since Eisenhower to serve two terms, he created 9 million+ jobs, he ended the cold war, and restored faith in the American dream. Even Nancy Pelosi said that "Reagan got this nation out of a huge recession" she even commissioned a statue of the man.The great communicator will one day be remembered as the greatest

It s always lovely to see how those ultra conservatives use aggressive methods to defend themselfs. Well, I cant even say defend anymore. Its more like rotting out other opinions, and get the whole nation under one party. Somehow in that way, I almost cant differ between republicans and the German NS. I always knew PATRIOTISM MEANS DECADENCE...

Robert James "Bobby" Fischer In my opinon was the man along and with his own mind and his talent destroyed de soul and mind of the USSR and ended the Cold War, after that everything is percata minuta.
When the pride and the dignity of any nation or individuo are distroyed there is not weapon more powerful that the degradation of the Psyche of the people of any nation or army and all thier inferno arsenal.
So the almighty Bobby Fischer is the executor who ended the Cold war not Reagan

@Dosite1 Regan himself actually came up with the most powerful and meaningful line, which was almost taken out, but it wasn't because Regan actually believed in something, unlike politicians today.

@inrwizards Peter Robinson himself actually came up with the line. As part of the advance team, he attended a cocktail party in Germany and gleaned it from a chat with his hostess. He wrote the speech for Reagan and the line became controversial, but Reagan liked it, and left it in. Props to Peter Robinson and good advance teamwork.

Ronald Reagan was a great man - I was just in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and saw how they were treated by the Communists - it was horrendous - Reagan was right about the "evil empire"

@phoenixbornagain maybe true, but anyone who knows how economies operate will tell you it takes years and years for economic policies to make an impact on a state. It's unfair the way it seems to work but for most presidents their legacy isn't discovered until they've left office
