End of a 26 year era -- closing of the Whig & Courier. Will miss Tina & Co. very much. Not only does she sing like an angel, she makes the best bloody mary I've ever had.
I first saw Tina at 9 yoa I had just come to Nashua, NH to WOTW. I wasn't that impressed then. We had a live show somewhere & Tina had just had an appendeceomy & did her set from a wheelchair. What she matured into! One of the great travesties in country music is that she hasn't been heard more. Last time I heard Dick Curless was at a benefit show for Tina after a traffic accident. He drove all the way from Branson just for this show & the song they did together was one for the ages.
Oh wow! I was so surprised to find this video!! i used to see Tina Welch on tour alot with Dick Curless in the New England area. I often wondered what happened to her. So glad to see she is doing great!!
Ah, Tina ... haven't seen you for a couple of years ... you were always my favorite at "The Whig" in Bangor; .... she's a totally wonderful girl as well as a great singer.
I've known Tina since we were 10,with Clyde Joy show,my dad:Jimenez and the Lazy J Playboys and jamborees which she performed.I'm thrilled to hear her again, she's still a great singer.I have some original recordings of her on Clyde Joys show.
Hey I can go back farther than Alan's 5th Wheel. Hey Tina, do you remember the Pequoig Lounge in Athol, Mass? I was very young and referred to as Little Lee! Remember Leon Edwards and the great bands like Alan Estes and the Estes Boys? John Penny? Sleepy Labeef? You were awesome then and still are! Nice to see this video. Brings back alot of good times from the late 70's.
Many years ago I was chosen to be one of the performers in a radio show that was to be broadcast..........at Alan's 5th Wheel in Massachusetts, along with Tina.
I was a green wanna- be and Tina was a dynamite performer and songstress and oh so young!
I still have her 45 "Show And Tell".
It's so nice to see that she is still alive and well and singing just beautifully.
