  • no no no dude this is all wrong you have to do more with abs when you do crunches because u aint using weights

  • gym is important but 95 percent of your abs is done in the kitchen rather than the gym. so eat right and yes train your abs right and you will see results

  • like it

  • people never co-existed with dinosaurs. also, the we pack on fat in the mid-section to protect our vital organs. has nothing to do with a need to be properly weighted whilst fighting predators.

  • Good he goes on and on and says the most simple text ever. 'Cavemen/women' No it's called DNA, the way we are born as humans.....To get abs you need to lose weight off your belly and do sit-ups etc. Less then 5 secs to explain it, unlike this dude!

  • I love you cause i knew those facts but somewhat along the way i forgot it ....thanks for the reminder great video.

  • rotate routines lets say youll do crunches the next week work on your biceps then move on to something else because your bodys going to get used to the crunches the first time then youll do your biceps your bodys not ready for it, its ready to do crunches with ease.

  • I wanted to tell you, I've taken the advise of this video and after 3 months of bulking and 3 more months of trimming, I've gotten my abs showing. (And I used to be a pot-belly.)

  • That's freakin' AWESOME man! You're doing it the right way...pack on the MASS first and then trim down SLOOOOOOOOWLY. You'll save more muscle that way.

    Keep up the great work!

  • How do I go about trimming slowly? I lost way to much muscle mass when I trimmed even though I was taking Glutamine to help prevent it.

  • @TheMuscleNerd how many sets do you do during your workouts?

  • Don't listen to shit like this on the internet, ask your local trainer or weightroom coach for real advice.

  • STUPID

  • Tem algum fundamento esta critica... No entanto não nos podemos esquecer qual é realmente o principal papel dos músculos abdominais e que duração tem o seu esforço nas actividades quotidianas... etc..

  • The best training program you can do is the one your not doing now. Your body adapts to whatever program you are doing, so this is a good basic program but it will have a limited period of effectiveness. If you have, maybe 3 different effective programs then you can cycle them and gain the benefits of avoiding body adaptation and make you routine more interesting for yourself.

  • people, stop arguing. I think he was just being sarcastic about the T Rex thing.

  • tyzereon is a joke.

  • but if u use weights your waist line will grow u wont have an arnold waist line!

  • Great adivce. This guy(TheMuscleNerd)hits the nail on the head and hes funny too. =P

  • Right right. Man has fought T-rexes.

    NOT!

    A little Borat there.

Also, your abs are a different kind of muscles than the ones in your upper body. I am not saying don't use weights, but do 10-15 reps of each exercise * 3 * 5-10 different exercises on your abs.

  • lol man, not a few hundred thousand years

why dont you try with a 50 milion years between dinosaurs and first humans, get your facts straight before you go mocking someone else

  • shut the hell up idiot wtf..

  • there u see this guy is dumb as shit , when we still lived in caves there did not exist tyroanosaurus rex why? because dino's did not exist in that time , and im not talkin bout a few hundred years nope, a few hundred thousand years lol

  • who cares?

  • not to be rude, but i think you missed out the point in the message.

  • dude... get a life...

  • this is very true. it's funny how many people train abs the wrong way

  • true stuff! i train it like the rest, theyre all the same fleshy muscular things!

  • i use a back pack full of weights and stuff 80-90 lbs into a back pack and hold it round my chest and do decline half sit ups 3 sets of between 4-8 reps. that move there with added weight muscled up my midsection more than anything else.i also take some rope and tie the back pack full of some weights onto my shin and ankle area. and do sets of leg raises 6-12 reps.when i do upper abs which consist of a crunching motion i go a bit lighter 10-15 reps.

  • this guy is a legend in the bodybuilding world, he nos wot hes talking about! all you people telling him hes wrong and telling him things to remeber, he nos!!!! plus a whole lot more!!!!

  • don't forget dieting is important...meaning what you eat...eating healthy will get you abs, along with exercise.

  • alot of people dont realize that in order to have your abs pop.....you need to eat good.....that should be the first thing this guy is talking about.....

  • i agree with this guy. i used weights on the incline bench while doing situps and the muscles just POPPED out of the belly. i forgot about using weights on the knee raises and other ab work. hopefully that can stimulate more muscle growth. i did never go beyond 50 reps when doing abs - the average was between 20-30 reps.

  • lol fatty arms

  • this vid is wrong. it should be around 30 reps. weight resistance on your abs could be dangerous if its too heavy.

  • what about your other muscles? would it not be dangerous to use heavy weights on them too?

    i disagree

  • What's the evidence for this? How are abdominal muscles different from other muscles?

  • good vid, he is right.

  • Bodybuilders use belts to support themselves and want their abdominal muscles to atrophy so they can attain that absurd shape they're after. Of course, many don't want others to succeed and let's not even mention steroids. Why did I 'know' this guys site would want my email address and have 'secrets' to offer. No secrets about training exist. It's all just science.

  • since when did humans live with t-rex's?

  • that guy is a chronic masturbater...fo show

  • Thanks for the tips but it would be nice if you actually demonstrated some of the things..

  • u dont suppose to use weights.you dont want big abs just cut ones

  • I do?

    Good to know.

Could you also tell me what I want for dinner tonight? I'm really having a hard time deciding.

  • Hahahaha, this guy is funny, and im learning:)

  • hi my name is salman

  • ok so its settled. Low reps with weights 3 times per week, high reps with no weights 2 days a week. Done.

  • Finally!! Somebody else who knows that high repetitions is just fucking retarded!

Good vid, though you should also explain more clearly about the high intensity/anerobic work.

Eg, anerobic = burns fat more effectivly, retains muscle.

Aerobic = Takes longer to burn fat and you lose muscle because your body sees it as a burden so it will lose it to carry on for longer.

  • You shouldn't jump to conclusions regarding high reps and ab training. Considering the abs are a more resilient muscle, and the most used muscle in daily activities they respond to resistance in a different manner then sedentary muscle groups. Iv'e found high reps works similar but in a different fashion then heavy resistance low rep.

  • To be more clear, the video is bodybuilding/aesthetic orientated, I wasn't jumping to conclusions, I simply put down the appropriate info.

If your looking for good looking abs then high reps isn't the way to go since it will build endurance and very little hypertrophy. moderate resistance with a moderate range of reps is better for giving abs their shape, high reps is what fighting athletes and runners do because they need the endurance and they don't train for aesthetics.

  • As I wrote, abs are more resilient to resistance training. If the resistance is high enough to create muscular failure within a short rep range i.e 6-12 that has no indication of stimulating the abs to ceate hypertrophy more productively in comparison to a higher rep with moderate weight. Shape is not created by reps rather excercises and genetics, abs can only grow in one fashion unlike biceps which have several areas and a head to peak with varying excercises.

  • It makes total sense, do some sessions of around 10-15 reps to bring up the size, then do some max repetition sessions to make them more defined... if you just do max reps then youll have ultra cut abs but theyll be so tiny with so little mass it will be pointless. Doing cardio also makes your abs more lean and athletic like, similar to high reps abs exercises

  • AWESOME very informative

  • I can accept most of the info provided aside from the 20min. of high intensity cardio. Attempting to do so will cause your body to reach its anabolic threshold. When attempting to loose weight, it is best to try doing an aerobic activity for an extended period of time within your upper(if possible) target heart rate range. And doing situps will get results, the discouraging factor is that we don't visually notice what we've accomplished until we get down to around 10% body fat(for guys).

  • i do agree with jaybonesNJ.

  • This makes perfect sense

  • this guy is a fucking stupid moron - im appauled at this guys presentation

  • This guy has no idea about biology. He actually thinks the human species has coexisted with dinosaurs! Idiot!

  • Actualy we did !There's fosil proof which is human footprints close to dinasaur footprints in the sme rock, which was found somewhere.

  • Of course we didn't, you fool! Dinosaurs lived about 200 millions of years ago, the human species evolved about 200'000 years ago!

  • Thats what you think.Sciece & historians have got it all wrong as fucking usual. We've been around 4 millions of years &we were as advanced as now,but periodically civilisation gets wiped out &buried. Many things have been found to prove this.Don't believ those stupid fuckers -how about hoew they always used to tell us that the Romans built Britains straight roads &now they've realised that WE did !

  • Ok then please share your proofs with me, or at least some facts that support your theory.

  • excuse me.....but we didn't evolve from animals!God made us!

  • then ask God to give you a 6-pack

  • lol, nice 1

  • lololol,mwhahahhahahahahaha!mdr!!!

  • What a retard! Buy yourself a dictionary and check out the meanings of the words "theory" and "religion."

    Also "retard."

  • cool post :) what religion are you talking about? rational thinking? where's your evidence God made the world in 6 days? A book? Written by who? Hmmmm... that's convenient...

  • your one of those guys that only beleive in facts and you probably dont belive any one who tells you anything am i right.

  • are you talking to me? your post is non-sensical... facts can be told to people by other people...

  • how does it not makes sense if someone tells you something and you dont beleive them. like the video you said What's the evidence for this its common since your abdominal muscle's are the same as any other muscle cuzz you can over train any muscle in your body. well im talking repetion part all that cave man bull shit is kinda stupid.

  • huh? sorry, you clearly didn't understand my post... all I asked was why the poster thought abdominal muscles are somehow different from other muscles in the body... of course you can overtrain any muscle, either by too much volume or too much load... I was just curious why he thought that... have noooo idea what you're rambling on about... peace :)

  • lol oh my bad dude peace.

  • 6000 yrs. old??? more like 6 trillion yrs. how old are the dinosaurs?? let me guess thats a theory also, all the bones that are dug up are part of some huge conspiracy, idiot. also is proven not theorized that we evolved

  • Umm.. whatever.. I like his voice. It's so sexy. As he speaks my ming goes imagening how his abs look like.. ummmm..

  • what about the biggest loser, when they lose like 10-20 lbs per week

  • i train in boxing, you NEED to do high reps for abs of steel or you'll get fucked!

It's not about having pretty abs. We use high reps to devlelop stamina in order to take punch after punch in the stomach.. and low reps with weights will not cut it! Your mid section is meant to be small and tight.. listen to stan mcquay, he has awsome abs and uses high reps and no weights!

  • I think this guy's point is that muscle tissue is muscle tissue whether its the abs or the biceps. There should be no difference in how the muscles are trained. On the other hand, since low reps and high weight build mass, I'm not so sure how many people want a bulky midsection.

  • exactly, I kickbox and I do the same thing. Always stick with the high reps for nice cut abs

  • Great video! Thanks man really appreciate it!

  • mike tyson does 2500 a day and he got best abs ive seen

  • Bullshit.
