I think Lady Gaga should not be even mentioned on here because she is a completely different artist who I am frankly sick of (yes she writes her own music but so does the majority of bands and pop singers are more seen for their voices anyway, plus she dresses just for attention which is VERY distasteful) Anyway, I'm not usually really huge into R&B music or anything but I really like VV especially "Everybody" I could get to really like her music! (On a positive note)

V.V. has always had this style, keep in mind Lady Gaga wasn't as much of international "superstar" at this point in time, so V.V. probably wouldn't have known who Lady Gaga was or, be affected by Gaga in a way that V.V. would feel the need to copy her. Almost all pop stars are similar visually, b/c that certain image is what's popular but musically and vocally these two completely different.

I hate the way people seem to believe that Lady Gaga originated inginuity and creative expression when she has only been out for what 3 years & she is the amalgamtion of artists like Madonna, queen etc. that came before her. No one is "Original". People usually misunderstand the concepts. Originality cannot exist because everything we create is based on a mix of things that already exists. The correct word if "Innovation". Who presents things we already saw in a way no one did before. Lady Gaga is innovative, Madonna is innovative, VV for sure is innovative. Each one innovated things in a different way, 'cuz each one see the world in a different way. There's no space for fight here.

Although, I do agree, the comparison needs to stop, I don't really see how the two are that similar. Love them both though.

I hate the way people seem to believe that Lady Gaga originated inginuity and creative expression when she has only been out for what 3 years & she is the amalgamtion of artists like Madonna, queen etc. that came before her. Selling millions of records does not mean that you're a great artist/musician. It means that you're a great product, packaged and ready for sale to the sheeple. @CalifornianTeenDream yes gaga can play the piano, but isn't that competent. she started playing during her pre-pubescent years, so about 11 and she doesn't write ALL of her songs, whereas vv does. vv brown was classically trained since the age of 5, and can fluently play 3 other instruments. you're also forgetting that she's written songs for the pussycat dolls, and worked with MADONNA. so don't start over-crediting gaga, when she doesn't deserve it. uncultured swine.

@CalifornianTeenDream gaga's clever. if you think about it all of her songs are generic pop songs, she just manages to cover it up with unconventional "artistry", and exaggerated fashion, which i find incredibly pretentious and underwhelming. these are the main reasons why she sells so much. now that she has such a big fanbase she could release a piece of shit if she wanted to and it'd go straight to no.1, because she's got a hurd of dedicated "monsters" that'd eat anything up she threw at them.

@CalifornianTeenDream whereas vv brown, is incredibly overlooked and underplayed. she's writes ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING, as in there is no one that she has to "co-write" with. she also recorded, a produced, and played the instruments on the album all BY HERSELF. it doesn't matter if she hasn't sold millions, because her album isn't a flop. she's all about progression and longevity, which is something lady gaga will be running out of in the next couple of years. enjoy her while you can.

Nobody is really that original anyways...lady gaga herself said she was inspired by the techno acts of Eastern Europe (groups like Colonia, who if you look up their vids have outfits very reminiscent of Gaga's) and drag. Same with VV Brown, who used to read her mom's vogue magazines when she was little...as if those don't have whimsical fashion choices...either way they're both great artists who aren't afraid to step out and be a little daring.
