  • wait, so even videos with 20,100 views have the racial thing come up? give it up already, who really gives a shit. People are trying to make good points on why it doesn't matter or even bringing in examples of how your wrong and your going to argue that. get a life, wudjew already

  • REAL HIP HOP! REAL MUSIC!

  • @Kreszchin

That's because your white and there is no way you can relate to ghetto life and gansta'ism therefore you push this shit as 'real rap' so you can have some sort of chance.

Rap is black music fuckers don't forget it.

  • @orasis sorry bro but rap doesn't have to be about how thug you are, how you get bitches or how you get money, that's just one aspect (ie gangsta rap). Rap will forever be for all skin colours!

  • @Forster89

Indeed, but the mainstream version of rap should remain 'black' and therefore 'gangsta' so that it is impossible that rap music may be usurped by whites like Rock music was.

  • @orasis your an idiot...

  • @GameGuru2004

Uh huh. Do you think I am ignorant of the history of rock music or the 'Mongrel Shows' ? No.

Anyways, can you argue against my statement that white people cannot become 'gangsta rappers' and therefore the industry and money would go solely to black artists?

  • @orasis You're retarded man. Almost all the real MCs I know are white but thats not even the point since race doesnt matter!!!. They rap about what THEY know, which makes it real. You don't have to come from a 'Ghetto Life' to be able to rhyme. If you rhyme about what you are and what you grew up as, its considered real. Stop being so ignorant.

  • @invectrum

Of course race matters. Look at your own comment, I never said that black artists were only capable of writing/rapping about Ghetto Life, you did.

What I said was that a majority of white people are unable to 'gangsta' rappers and so they rally against it so that they can gain a foothold in Rap Music.

They did the same sort of thing with Rock music.

  • @orasis Naw I never said that, its not my fault that most the mcs i know are white, its just where im from. All i know is i came across your comment saying to leave rap to black people. Maybe you should backtrack and make sure you remember everything you said correctly.

  • @invectrum

Youtube quotes me "Indeed, but the mainstream version of rap should remain 'black' and therefore 'gangsta' so that it is impossible that rap music may be usurped by whites like Rock music was"

Rock music "Its immediate origins lay in a mixing together of various black musical genres of the time"

It [Rock] went from black to black and white to pretty much white.

    Know your history nay?

  • @orasis you're so fucking ignorant... aesop rock. It doesn't matter what the roots of the music are. Just because Dave Brubeck wasn't black doesn't mean that he didn't create some of the best jazz of the time. Anyone can create anything they want... it's just societies view of them as pathetic because they're "trying to be someone they're not". Bullshit. Just because an image is developed doesn't mean people can't do what they want to do because a society develops into an opinionated hipster

  • @orasis Also, mainstream rap has converted to hip-hop... and hip-hop's gonna fall out just like disco did. It'll sort of merge with pop until the two are combined into a giant moneymaking genre. Indie is the new mainstream, "mainstream" you hear today on mtv and much is now on the decline with record sales, and rap will always be an under-appreciated genre because of these, and many other factors.

  • @orasis I also don't care about your music history degree or any of that bullshit. If you can't see things for what they really are, I don't care how much you know. It's like a mathematician knowing all of the numbers but can't understand the formula for the life of him. Don't act so elitist and know-it-all, saying "the mainstream version of rap should remain 'black' and therefore 'gangsta' so that it is impossible that rap music may be usurped by whites like Rock music was."

  • @orasis Our society isn't like it was back then either... It's not like any genre can be stolen by anyone anyways... way back when they were still appreciated; at least in the rap scene. Pharcyde? I don't know what your fear is. Whites stealing black people's music? Generation gap much

  • rofl im not feelin it, its jokes though

  • Yikes! So much hostility.
