  • many people dont know but this is great cuz your glucose levels are depleted so you need carbs as well as the sugar which helps with the depleted insulin level, and i am pretty sure he had some sort of protein shake after his workout. I am majoring in sports science and we just had a discussion about this today. GREAT JOB timbahwolf.

  • @jvboy88 because 1) he exercises a lot and 2) he watches his total caloric intake. if u don't go overr your daily caloric level of maintenance you will not gain weight doesn't matter if you eat chocolate all day. there is no excess energy for your body to store as fat.

  • @wusta34 I know your not the guy you were talking to, but i think i can help. Protein should be taken as soon after your workout as possible. Your muscles are actually damaged during a good workout, and begin the repair process immediately after.(well, more like after each set, but i digress) this is where size and strength gains are made. Its this repair process that requires the good stuff in proteins. Your muscles are most receptive to nutrients right after a workout. Hope that helps

  • i can only think of one benefit of donuts for post workout and thats simple carbs. shit load of it in donuts. but you got to get some protein in you aswell and sadly donuts dont have that much protein content.

  • @Card0Sold sugar is a form of simple carb and ur body is optimum for simple carbs post workout, and the fat wont hurt that much, as it helps with anabolic state and T levels. Go read a book

  • third rule of thermodynamics (physics). Calories(energy) put in vs Calories(energy) put out. So if you eat 2000 but your body only burns 1500 in a day, then you would end up on a calories surplus(+500) Which is going to be stored as fat and muscle(if you have had a workout). It is as simple as that. Same princip if you eat 2000 and burn 2500, (- 500) You are going to loose fat and muscle ( less muscleif you eat enough protein and workout).

  • @THEjapsidudl the calories surplus will always be stored both as fat and muscle. The relation between how much muscle and how much fat, depends on how much/hard you workout. More muscle breakdown means more calories used for muscle repairing. If you dont workout at all, you are probably going to store almost all of the excess calories as fat. There is also other things to do(besides (resistance) training) to help aid the muscle gain and reduce the fat gain. Hard work, diet, dedication...

  • @geort45 the food you crap out is called waste. The food nutrients and energy content is absorbed by the body. So for example 100 grams of beef is not pure energy, it contains mostly water, proteins, minerals, some vitamins in the fat, and ash(waste).

    Now the energy is actually getting lost abit, but it is already counted for when you say 4 kcal for every g of protein, it is actually 5 kcal (thermogenic effect/ energy lost as heat). !!Prot, Carb and Fat have diffrent % of energy loss as heat.!!
