can you please help sometimes wheni go to surface blur it says that the selected area is empty so it can not perform the surface blur and i am new to photoshop so i am not sure why it says it only sometimes bc the first time i watched your video it worked fine and now since I've started learning more and doing more when i go back to watch yours to practice more it pops that up so would you please help me on this problem thank you so much!!!
Yeah, this is really top shelf. There are so many ways to smooth skin, and after trying this way, I gotta say this is really producing fabulous results. Thanks so much for sharing your skill and wisdom.
nice tutorial! i just need to give a few tips to trick351 and to everybody
- First show a bit of life when speaking I nearly fell asleep
- Second before you apply the surface blur check if you removed any spots and defects, I m referring to the forehead..
- Try to use the shortcut for brush size by holding the alt key on pc, meanwhile click and hold the rightclick so u can adjust the brush size and its feathering.
great... but why didn't you smooth out the imperfections on her forehead??? One spot is overlit and there are some pimples/moulds witch stick out even harder in the endresult
i have a question...at 2:00 when you add the layer mask you say that i must hold the..............and then clicking on add layer mask........ i don't understand what key are you talking about or what is the answer can you reply? please...:)
it doesnt wanna work the blur dosnt do nothing i get all the way to the point in selecting the layer mask and then the brush and switch the opacity to 50% but then when i try to blur the pic it does nothing ??
For the newbies : If you're doing a face, to keep the eyes from being blurred out, use the quick selection tool and select the eye and the white parts, both eyes. Then right click and do a selection invert. THEN do the surface blur. Keeps the eyes nice and vibrant :)
At 2:00 when you add the layer mask the blur disappears again. I tried to smooth the skin but a that point it didn't work. The blur didn't disappear so that I couldn't continue with using the brush and so on...
This was REALLY helpful. I like how you did an actual video to teach with simple, easy-follow steps instead of a look-how-amazing-I-am-at-Photoshop video that just goes by super fast with cheesy music. Thank you!
Great video! Thanks! The only thing that is throwing me for a loop is the addition of noise. I just need to figure out how much is right for the image I am working on. I will be practicing a lot! It would be great if you could upload more videos since you are a great teacher. Take care.
Thanks for showing how to do it properly.

Can you tell me why is that?
llallare 1 year ago
@llallare
you can fill the mask with black, then you use white brush to paint the area you wanna see smooth.
