  • nice tutorial! i just need to give a few tips to trick351 and to everybody

    - First show a bit of life when speaking I nearly fell asleep

    - Second before you apply the surface blur check if you removed any spots and defects, I m referring to the forehead..

    - Try to use the shortcut for brush size by holding the alt key on pc, meanwhile click and hold the rightclick so u can adjust the brush size and its feathering.

  • For the newbies : If you're doing a face, to keep the eyes from being blurred out, use the quick selection tool and select the eye and the white parts, both eyes. Then right click and do a selection invert. THEN do the surface blur. Keeps the eyes nice and vibrant :)

  • Thats really a great one :)

  • Excellent tutorial, very easy to follow

  • Freakin amazing.Thanks!

  • @trick351

At 2:00 when you add the layer mask the blur disappears again. I tried to smooth the skin but a that point it didn't work. The blur didn't disappear so that I couldn't continue with using the brush and so on...

Can you tell me why is that?

  • @llallare

you can fill the mask with black, then you use white brush to paint the area you wanna see smooth.

  • What an awesome tutorial. Thank you!

  • wow, great tutorial... thanks for sharing this...

  • And thank you Kelly E for taking such an amazing photo.

  • THANK YOU!!! Most helpful video on skin smoothing with CS5 EVER!!! HUGE HELP!!

  • very good technique. Much appreciated. Thanks.

  • FAB video! very helpful!

  • great video !!! thanxxx :D

  • This was REALLY helpful. I like how you did an actual video to teach with simple, easy-follow steps instead of a look-how-amazing-I-am-at-Photoshop video that just goes by super fast with cheesy music. Thank you!

  • Great video! Thanks! The only thing that is throwing me for a loop is the addition of noise. I just need to figure out how much is right for the image I am working on. I will be practicing a lot! It would be great if you could upload more videos since you are a great teacher. Take care.

  • thanks!
