(I know it was techically the last video) when he said "you have talent" I assumed it was because Garret got close enough to him to almost steal his stuff but actually it was because Garret knew he was there! when your so bad-ass someone knowing your there is surprising thats badass.

I'm so damn angry, I just felt like playing Thief again, but I can't get the bloody thing to work! One error after another. Thank god I can get my thief fix by watching some decent LPs :)

@MagicAccent Well, there are some FAQs linked in this video. Also, if you have Windows 7, do not... I repeat, do not use the DDFix patcher or manually update the EXE. That will cause the game to crash permanently. Instead, put the manual DDFix files in the directory, don't update the EXE, do update the ini for the DDFix... for whatever reason on Windows 7 it picks up the DDFix without updating the EXE.

Yeah I know, I sat a couple of hours trying all kinds if fixes, but after each fix, I just got a different error. Such a headache to play one measly masterpiece of a game. I hear Thief 2 is less of a hassle to get working, so Im gonna try that later.

@sokas3000 I own it from when it was brand new in 1999. I originally had Thief TDP, but sold it awhile ago. I kept Thief Gold, which is TDP plus some extra levels.

And please, finish this when you can, its sad to look at an unfinished LP, use runfirst.exe to make it run on a single core if you use windows 7 with a dual-core. For installation and running the game, both need to run on administrator and with compatibility to XP service pack 2.

hey I got the game for X mas and the game runs fine until it comes to the part where you get to play, I get the cut scenes but not the playing itself. for some reason it keeps telling me that I need a DirectX and I looked on the forums and I couldn't find anything about that on it.

@Gaaraundgirrule If you got the one that is purchased from Eidos as a downloadable rather than the physical game that you can find on eBay or Sold Out Games, that might be your problem. I hear it's not compatible with a lot of the fixes. In any case, I'd go through and put together some of the fixes there anyway. I've had a similar problem before and just started using fixes listed till it started working. Good luck.

Oh yes, the REAL thief game, yes, with long, long corridors, huge, spread-out, open air levels, instead of ridiculously tiny levels of T:DS.

If only Thief3 was developed for PC, instead of hardware challenged consoles, we could have had an incredible game...instead we got a "cathedral" a size of a small hovel, with barely any alternate ways through it.

look at MAG with way over 200 players in 1 game.
