DONT LISTEN TO HER!!

first: clean off the shoe with clean smooth clothe

2: take the same clothe and put just a dab of water and rub it into the shoe into the water is gone  -this opens the pores of the leather

3: get a ""DAB"" (not a shizz load) of KIWI shoe polish on the same clothe and rub into the shoe unto the polish is gone.

4: breathe deeply on the shoe (creating a fog over it) and rub off gently but fast with the clothe

5: then do #1 serveral times over....

No dusting off or removing the laces beforehand!? I'm afraid I'm always somewhat sceptical of this kind of advice. The only way to polish and get the desired effect is the way the military polish their shoes and boots. It's all about the 6 Ps.
